Full Version: When will Rod Marinelli get canned?

With head coach Rod Marinelli, the Lions are 10 and 33 (.233, W-L %), lost the last 18 out of 19 games, and they can't seem to keep their early leads. Steve Mariucci had the record of 15 and 28 before being fired after his third Thanksgiving game, so the question I ask is...

Will the Lions fire Rod Marinelli after (assuming) the Lions lose to the Titans on Thanksgiving?

Yes he will be fired. Is it all his fault....No. He was hamstrung by some off Matt Millen's poor personnal decisions. Yes Marinelli has his faults too, but he should be able to find a home for next year and I beleive that he should get another shot.

Yeah, I agree it's not his fault entirely but I think there needs to be a change. Something isn't working in Detroit and I think it's best we start over. I also hope Marinelli gets another shot. Detroit just hasn't been the best fit for anyone in the Millen era.

If I were the Lions I would shell out whatever money it took to bring in Bill Cowher.

I would do that in a heartbeat but I've read some rumors that he'll probably go to Cleveland (because he has been involved with that city forever and is pretty much worshiped there). I think we should try to get Cowher but realistically go after the New York Giants defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo. He was with the Eagles when they had their elite defense and is having the same results with the Giants. I think he can make the Lions into a defense first team.
