I was bored so I decided to put out my own top five rankings for each position. I look forward to seeing what you guys think and what your own rankings are. I ranked who I thought would come out.
* denotes that they are an underclassman and might not come out.
Quarterback
1. Sam Bradford* Oklahoma
2. Josh Freeman* Kansas State
3. Matt Stafford* Georgia
4. Nate Davis* Ball State
5. Mark Sanchez* USC
Sam Bradford is the clear number one if he comes out. 2-5 are a little bit tricky. They all have their strenghts but have their weaknesses too. The one to watch out for is Nate Davis. He could find himself as the second quarterback taken.
Running Back
1. Knowshone Moreno* Georgia
2. Chris Wells* Ohio State
3. LaShawn McCoy* Pittsburgh
4. Shone Green* Iowa
5. Javon Ringer Michigan State
Wide Receiver
1. Michael Crabtree* Texas Tech
2. Jeremy Maclin* Missouri
3. Darrius Heyward-Bey* Maryland
4. Percey Harvin* Florida
5. Brandon LaFell* LSU
Crabtree is the consenses number one. Harvin is just as talented as the other three, but injuries will move him out of the first round.
Tight End
1. Jermaine Gresham* Oklahoma
2. Brandon Pettigrew Oklahoma State
3. Chase Coffman Missouri
4. Darius Hill Ball State
5. Travis Beckum Wisconsin
Beckum broke his leg, otherwise he might be higher. Watch out for Darius Hill. He will surprise a lot of people. Coffman is suffering from turf toe. Gresham is just be amazing this year.
Offensive Tackle
1. Andre Smith* Alabama
2. Michael Oher Mississippi
3. Eugene Monroe Virgina
4. Jason Smith Baylor
5. Ciron Black* LSU
Smith is probably going to go either number 1 or 2 overall.
Offensive Guard
1. Duke Robinson Oklahoma
2. Herman Johnson LSU
3. Trevor Canfield Cinncinnati
4. Kraig Ubrik Wisconsin
5. Cedric Dockery Texas
Duke will probably be the only one that goes in the first round.
Center
1. Alex Mack Cal
2. Jonathan Luigs Arkansas
3. Max Unger Oregon
4. Antoine Caldwell Alabama
5. Eric Wood Louisville
This is a pretty good year for center prospects.
Defensive Tackle
1. Terrence Cody* Alabama
2. Sen'Derrick Marks* Auburn
3. Peria Jerry Mississippi
4. Ndamukong Suh* Nebraska
5. Filli Moala USC
Cody right now is the top dog in this group, but watch out for Suh. I'm not saying he is going to be a top 20 draft pick, but his stock is rising and he could be a high second rounder.
Defensive End
1. Michael Johnson Georgia Tech
2. Brian Orakpo Texas
3. George Selvie* South Florida
4. Greg Hardy* Mississippi
5. Tyson Jackson LSU
Johnson has freckish athletic ability for somebody his size. Orakpo is the Big 12 Defensive Player of the year.
Outside Linebacker
1. Aaron Curry Wake Forrest
2. Brian Cushing USC
3. George McRath* Southern Mississippi
4. Marcus Freeman Ohio State
5. Mark Herzlich* Boston College
Cushing would be a good fit in a 3-4 system because of versitility. He did play DE for a year. Curry could play both outside and inside.
Middle Linebacker
1. Ray Maulauga USC
2. James Lauranitis Ohio State
3. Brandon Spikes* Florida
4. Jasper Brinkley South Carolina
5. Darry Beckwith LSU
Maulauga is an animal and will probably go top 5.
Cornerback
1. Malcom Jenkins Ohio State
2. Vontae Davis* Illinois
3. Victor Harris Virgina Tech
4. Alphonso Smith Wake Forrest
5. Mike Mickens Cinnicinati
Harris isn't to high on some peoples boards, but he could be a steal.
Saftey
1. Taylor Mays* USC
2. William Moore Missouri
3. Kam Chancellor* Virgina Tech
4. Rashard Johnson Alabama
5. Patrick Chung Oregon
Watch out for Kevin Ellison and Jordan Lake. Whoever gets these guys will be very happy.
