1-(24)-Patriots Select-Victor Harris CB VT- Harris is a special player he dominated BC in the ACC championship. He easily slides in at #1 CB with Hobbs at 2# and Wilhite and Wheatley coming on in dime and nickel packages.
2-(12)-Patriots Select-Herman Johnson OG LSU- Immediate upgrade over Neal and helps fill up the patriots weak o-line.
2-(24)-Patriots Select-Chase Coffman TE Missouri- I like Ben Watson but he drops way too many balls and David Thomas looks like a good 2nd or 3rd TE Coffman has the tools to be a star and with Brady(hopefully) throwing to him he becomes one
3-(24)-Patriots Select- Larry English OLB Northern Illinois- The Patriots have some many injuries to there LB core this year they called me and asked if i wanted to suit up the pads again they saw some of my tapes from Pop Warner and thought i was better than the Colvin. So to make sure something like this never happens again larry english adds another young lb to (woods, mayo, guyton, crable) that has the makings to be a solid unit once the old men are all gone.
4-(24)-Patriots Select-Ian Johnson RB Boise-Add him with BJGE and you have the beginnings of a future RB duo. Now all they need to do is find the heir to Kevin Faulk.
5-(24)-Patriots Select- Nate Swift WR Nebraska- Gaffany's probably gone after this year and other than Moss and Welker there lacking any other threats (my apologies kelly washington) Swift can return Punts in the one game i saw Nebraska play in and was impressed with his hands he reminds me of Drew Bennett
6-(24)-Patriots Select- Brian Toal LB BC- Football player. Leader. Versatile. Injury Prone sad.gif He would probably go earlier if not for his injury riddled history. Immediate special teams contributor maybe rotational LB if he can stay on the field.
7-(24)-Patriots Select- Cody Grimm LB VT- He is a football player. Straight and simple. Every play he goes 110%. Looks like he could be a special teams star ala Larry Izzo

Funny, my second favorite scenario (after the one that starts with Herzlich) ALWAYS starts with Victor Harris.

Great minds think alike!...lol...

I love the first four picks. I like other RBs better than Johnson though...Tyrell Sutton there would be a better choice, IMHO...Swift is a nice pick, but there are better hands guys around with more upside, IMO.

Toal makes perfect sense for the Pats...versatile, all out guy...ST warrior.

I like Johnson better than Sutton because he his better at catching the ball and the Pats like to spread the ball around a lot and run many screens.
As for the Swift pick it was between him Brandon Tate who was having a great year before injury and Jon Davis of Azusa Pacific ultimately choose Swift because he's had a good year as a punt returner though Welker is a good returner but with all the huge hits hes been taking recently id rather not see him get injured fielding a punt

That's a heck of a 7 round mock, but isn't Coffman on the verge of cracking the 1st, a strong combine almost has to put him at least in the top 10 in the 2nd right? unsure.gif Victor Harris with a a poor 40, 4.62 perhaps might fall to the late 2nd. The others are likely to be there when you pick. I love Toal but I fear he will always be nicked. Grimm is a mad man! wink.gif

I don't think Coffman will move into the first based on the fact that he isnt overly fast and he's not a great blocker...Harris is a game changer any team taking him will know that there going to have to give him safety help for the deep ball...Toal will probably always be dealing with injuries but if you limit his snaps he could be a great special teams performer

Sutton has terrific hands. Perhaps the best of any RB in the draft, and certainly as good as Johnson's. He's proven himself to be more durable as well. Sutton is the new Kevin Faulk, trust me on that...

I like the Swift pick OK...but I am not sure PRer is a major need and would draft more on pure receiving ability myself. I'm certainly OK with it.

I like Johnson too, don't get me wrong. But if both Sutton and Johnson were sitting there, I'd personally go with Sutton.

I'm not going to say i have an impressive knowledge on Sutton but i've seen a few of his games and have read some things on him including this site which lists hands under weakness...and regarding Swift i just see the Patriots liking his versatility
