Don't know if anybody saw this, but Andre Smith won't be playing in the Sugar Bowl. Its being reported that he had some dealings with agents. I doubt this hurts his draft stock too much, but not a smart move on his part.

Here is the article on ESPN.com

This isnt a bad sign to me, he is still the best prospect in this years draft. Although this site thought it was a bad thing( he droped big time in the updated top 100)

It's not going to help him, but I don't think it hurts him. It's not drugs or guns or anything criminal...
Mr. Knowitall
From what I heard(going on a couple Insider Alabama sources) he indirectly talked with an agent(his cousin is the one who talked to him) basically it was a stupid move but it is a loophope. However Saban did suspend him partly because he knew Andre was doing something against the rules(but in a smart way I must add), partly because he isn't happy that Andre is leaving and is already making contact with agents while he is still with the team.

I think that stuff happens more often than we know. And when bowl season comes, half these kids minds are on the pros, mine would be.

What impresses me is from early indications seems minor enough that saban could have ignored it and had hes LT for the game, but decided to do somethinfg about it anyways. But maybe I am giving him too much credit, who knows.

Only the big three really hurt you: Chronic medical issues, Drugs and Guns- Not necessarily in that order. wink.gif

There are a few others:

Being short, slow, and fat doesn't help either. I'm reminded of a story a scout told me a few years ago. He was at a pro-day workout at a 1-AA school and one of the kids working out was this sloppy looking guy who went about 5'8" and 255 pounds. Apparently he didn't get any game time during his collegiate career, but he was a kid who worked hard in practice every day. The scout was running the broad jump at the workout and the kid jumped something under 7'0". The scout looks up at the kid and asks him what position he thought he projected to in the NFL and the kid says he didn't have any specific position; he considered himself an "athlete" that could be used at multiple positions.
