Well the Bears aren't too stupid. NYJones what do you think of the trade? Is Denver now better off with Orton? lol
I think the Bears gambled here...and I personally don't believe it will result in a championship for them...EVER...and here's why. For one, Cutler does have a serious case of diabetes, and that will likely shorten the length of his career, especially since he apparently enjoys the night life and does not care for it very well during the off season. I've now seen three reports of this, the last one earlier on the NFL Network. Secondly, who the heck is he throwing to in Chicago? In Denver, he had arguably one of the top 3 receiving corps in the NFL...in Chicago, he may be throwing to one of the 3 worst. Third, I still maintain he has no leadership skills, and is not as good at reading a defense as Orton is. Fourth, he's now going from Mike Shanahan's offense to Lovie Smith's (although Ron Turner is an OC I have high regard for). Fifth, even with Pace, the OL in Chicago is not as good as Denver's is right now, nor likely to be anytime in the foreseeable future. Sixth, Cutler is a spoiled and immature crybaby, and IMO that's something that just is not going to change. Seventh, the Bears D has been vastly over-rated for a couple of years now, and IMO, they're headed in the direction of Denver's D...and with no 1st rounders this year or next, the likelihood of being able to shore up both the sickly offense and defense does not look good to me unless they do one heck of a job at finding some All Pros in the later round. And lastly, the Vikings are still a better overall team.
