Bob Babich is still going to be the defensive coordinator, but I can't say that is a good sign for his long term job stability.

With the likely hood of Herm Edwards being fired by the Cheifs I wonder if Lovie might try and get him to come to the Bears staff like he did with Marinilli?

Yeah i can see that.. it would be a good thing. but if that happens bye bye Babich, but i wouldn't be sad....

By all account Babich is a tremendous LB coach, so he may lose his DC totally by the end of 09 but should keep his job.

Bears also hire well respected and successful DB and DL coaches. Its nice to see them be proactive!!

I think the hiring of Marinilli might be one of their best signings that they could have done. Hopefully his motivation and intensity will rub off onto the other defensive players too, I saw too many times this past season where they would look like they would rather be some place else. Expecially the game against the Texans.
