Calling all CDS members. With the 2009 NFL Draft order almost set and the juniors all declared, what better time to update the official CDS mock draft than right now? So...I have, and you guys can read it at the links below and give me your feedback right here!

I like the draft, but had a few observations
Josh McDaniels had success at New England without a high caliber RB. Maroney, Faulk, Jordan, Morris. Would he value a RB in the first round? But I guess they took Maroney in the 1st too.
I really like the Heyward-Bey pick for the Bears. Out of all the first round WR's he seems to be the best fit with the Bears. They need a big receiver. They already have Lloyd, Hester, and Davis.
I'm not saying Harvin won't or couldn't go in the first round, but I haven't heard this argument too much but with Harvin's injured past would a GM want to give him first round money? I agree that he has first round talent, but never playing a full season in college would scare me.
Didn't Bradon LaFell change his mind and is returning to LSU. I thought I saw something on ESPN Blog network that he changed his mind. I could be wrong.
I really like the Potter pick in the third round. He is flying under the radar right now, but watch him at the Texas vs the US game and I'm sure he'll catch your attention. 6'7 285 he would be an ideal as a 3-4 DE, but would still be a good base 4-3 end too.
I really like the Nate Davis to the Bears pick. He has a strong arm, is accurate, and I kinda like how he throws with gloves. Everybody knows how cold it can get in Chicago and if he already throws with gloves he wouldn't be too affected by the cold weather.
All and all I really liked this draft. To be totally honest with you I don't usually agree with your drafts, but I couldn't really see a team not going in that directions. Good job.

Lafell IS returning to LSU.

I have no objections to your picks for the Chargers, but I would put McCoy ahead of Greene on my wish list for a RB. And Loadholt in the 3rd round would be great.

BTW CJ, I am still convinced DET goes either DL or OL with the first pick and Sanchez with their 2nd first.(he's more NFL ready then Stafford)

Right, I'll deal with these in the order they were posted so...
McDaniels saw last year that a high-powered air attack was not enough even for the greatest team of all time to win a Championship. I think from that he learned that a ground game is just as important and that's why he goes that way with the pick.
On Percy Harvin, I don't see him as a pure NFL receiver, at least not in the ordinary sense of the word. I think Harvin goes to a team that finds a way to get its playmakers the ball in whatever way they can, not just the usual routes. To that end, I've always so far had him going to Tampa because of Jon Gruden but now he's gone I really do Miami giving him a shot and using him in all sorts of ways. I hear what you say about the injuries, but they took Merling last year who fell because of an injury and that worked out pretty good for them.
LaFell has changed his mind...I just read that at CFT...Damn!
Finally to Johanns, this was the first draft this season where I've actually sat back afterwards and felt comfortable with the picks I've made. I took a totally different approach to doing it this time and it just felt better, so I'm glad that reflects in your comments.
Ahab, McCoy and Greene are so close right now in terms of ratings that it virtually came down to a coin toss to decide who I put there. In the end I went for Greene as you can see, but McCoy wouldn't shock me at all. Heck, by the next mock I may have changed my mind!
KIA, as I mentioned, the Mike Smith Theory suggests that they go QB because let's be honest about this, not every team is going to get as lucky as Miami did and find a Chad Pennington on the street. Stafford has the intangibles and the arm you look for and though his head needs a bit of work I think he's the better QB. Sanchez needs some polish and a while on the bench to learn some before he can start in the NFL. And besides, he may not be there by #20...

I like the idea of the Pack getting a real threat at RB like Moreno. (Grant is solid but he isn't a break away threat ) But I think they'll go LB early, maybe at #9 Capers just signed on as Def. Co-ordinator and there is going to be a switch to the 3-4. Hawk , Barnett, and Popinga are average, they need depth and an outside guy to rush the QB.

I haven't lokked at the draft yet. But IMO Greene is the best back in this draft.

I will make my "bold prediction" (i think thats the IN thing to do)
Sanchez will not fall to det 2nd pick in the first round!!!!!!!!!!!
Matter of fact, i wouldn't be shocked if he went before Stafford.
I will take my beatings between now and the draft, but I don't care.
As far as the bears draft..I would love love love love it if we drafted DHB. But I doubt angello would. Love the second pick. Please, I would puke if they toook Nate Davis instead of Chung in the 3rd.
But I would be stoked if your prediction for chicagos first two picks came true.

Yeah, I took it over from GP earlier this season. Glad you like the pick.
In case you're interested guys, there will be a new mock early next week, mainly because I plan on doing on while I'm on the train to Portsmouth and back...only 4 hours each way!

Not sure why Ravens have RT listed as a need or have Alex Boone being drafted in the third. O-Line depth yes but starters are in place.

As a true fan of the 'never knowing' Bengals, I'd be thrilled if we were to get Oher, Brown, and Jennings.
