I was in school and we watched most of the day. Im not a fan, but for the good of the country, I hope he suceeds. I was surprised that he walked during the parade, like some of the previous one. Granted it was only a couple blocks but still. Tonight I was in the emergency room unfortunately, but I watched there too. I really just hope that most of his stuff goes as planned. I really disagree with his socialistic ideas, say what you want, but in reality, that is what they are. The only thing that scares me, is another huge terroist attack. I just think that some of the leaders of other groups won't take him serious and don't think he will reaspond accordingly, and will strike. Good Luck Barack.

I'm with ya...Good luck to him..

I, however, did not watch any of the hoopla yesterday. Yes it was a historical day, but one day is not what I'm concerned about...It's whats going to happen in the next 1459 days that is going to tell if "change" or "hope" or (fill in the blank with your favorite positive word) is going to take place.

I hate to be a pedant, but its actually 1461 days total since there is a leap year and therefore still 1460 days to go...

I highly doubt there will be a terrorist attack.

Most terrorist attacks on American soil or American interests are executed by our own government anyway(9/11, Luisitania, Pearl Harbor, etc).

I'm very excited for the next 8 years! Even if he does half the things we wants to do, we are going to be a lot better off. Bush absolutely left this country in shambles, now it will be Obama and the democratic party to bring us back up again.

I think it was a very good message about hope and telling the Muslim world we will not stand for any sort of terrorism.

The government was behind 9/11 and other "terrorist" attacks.

Thats my personal opinion.

I concur fully with my dear friend and esteemed colleague.

All governments that become overbearing and too powerful in nations with vast concentrations of wealth in fewer and fewer hands have used "false flag" operations in the past to justify actions that would otherwise be vastly unpopular with their people.

For more information, Google: "List of false flag" and start reading...

The USA is not unique in this area, and certainly our leaders of recent decades have not had the people's best interests at heart, but rather maintaining and expanding their own notions of "correct governance" and their own power. They are elitists BECAUSE they believe their thoughts and ideas are truly elite, and that they know best what is best for the rest of us, even if it means a few thousand have to be sacrificed here or there "for the greater good."

For a peak into that mindset, look at this quote from Barbara Bush:

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0429-11.htm

Also, I am glad that the election of Obama has restored our standing in the world--for the time being--but I am already worried by some of the campaign promises that are being broken...

Operation Northwoods if I'm not mistaken, was nixed by JFK after the plan was for the US to hijack a plane and blame it on Cuba....along with burning crops and other things

I've heard all the "conspiracy" theories. And early in 07 I actually agreed with mostof the theories. But, I just can't say that the Gov't did it til there's proof. But I respect your opinion. Same to you Steve.

Wonder how that $150 million spent on the inauguration would have helped those people that were losing their jobs at the same time as the festivities.

Anyway, the Dow dropped fairly significantly during Obama's first day as president (not the change I was hoping for).

Obama has a lot to prove... sure, he's an eloquent speaker and a motivator, but can he actually lead the country? His selection for Secretary of the Treasury can't even figure out how to pay his own taxes? His selection for Secretary of Commerce declines the position because of an ongoing grand jury investigation? Yikes... not the harbinger of hope I was looking for.
