OK, he didn't actually come out and say it, but he was recently arrested for public intoxication and could have other charges filed. With his draft stock as low as it was, I'm not sure this was the best idea. It looks like Boone has a serious love for alcoholic beverages that he cannot control. I'd take him right off my draft board, and I'm sure there are a number of NFL teams that agree.

Yeah, he may well change his last name to UDFAR.

He will still be drafted, probably a 5th or 6th round pick now though. He is not the only guy to be arrested on alcohol charges. His size and potential will get him into the NFL even after a poor bowl game and this incident.

I think you're underestimating the amount of talented players that go undrafted... This is a serious hit to his stock, especially with a DUI already on his record

This guy has an admitted problem with alcohol. He started drinking in 8th grade and hasn't stopped. He shows a severe lack of judgment that isn't suddenly going to change. I would not be surprised if he went undrafted, although there are still teams out there that will take a chance on him in the latter rounds. Anyone who thinks he goes before the 5th round is kidding themselves.

He used to drink as much as 50 beers a day, every day, so this relapse is an indication that he is not ready for the real world, let alone the demands of the NFL. So sad.

I can't see any team drafting him now. It would be one thing if he was cmoing off a strong season, but he was so freaking lead footed and slow to react, there's no reason to take the chance. The crazy thing is that had he declared last year, and he nearly did, he probably would have gone ahead of Duane Brown.

You put it perfectly by saying "so sad".

It really is!! How many millions of people out there would use what gifts he has to make a good life for themselves and family. A lot of these guys(and gals) at pro and collegiate levels waste a potentially great life.

Boone seriously has some tremendous talent too, such a waste. He'll still be drafted, but ya probably not til the 5th round at the earliest.

But this is a guy who's underperformed the last two years for a coach who has a very good track record of getting talented high school recruits to become excellent offensive linemen and very good NFL prospects. You're right it is a waste. It has been a waste of talent long before this, but this latest incident is certainly a big honkin' red flag. Only a complete idiot does something that could potentially get himself in trouble with the law during the period between the end of his Senior year and the draft with the way the NFL has been looking at character for incoming rookies the last few seasons.

I'm sorry, I don't see him going as early as the 5th unless Al Davis thinks he needs a tackle.
