I would have a heart attack if the picks fell to the bears and they actually took those players!! The draft will be depressing now because I have seen this and dreamed about the bears actually making those picks.

A couple of observations

1. I like you picking Andre Smith to the Rams. Everything that Spagnolo has said points to Smith, and agree with what you said about Smith playing other positions.

2. I don't know if I agree with your Bears pick. On one had I really like it cause I think that Jason Smith has the ability to be the best OT in the draft, but then I don't know how he fits into the Bears line. They drafted Chris Williams to be their future LT. And Smith projects better at the LT position. Their real need is at RT. I'm sure that they can move one of them over, but I can't see them taking two LT's two years in a row.

3. I don't like the Derrick Williams pick to the Bears. He just seems too similar to Hester. Probably better route runner than Hester, but I can't see them taking a receiver that high that is similar to Hester. They need somebody to complement him.

4. Really like the Zach Potter pick in the second round. I think the Steelers would love him in their uniform.

5. I can't see Larry English falling to the 3rd round.

6. If Louis Delmas is available in the third I would think the Bears would jump all over that.

7. Love the Pat White to Arizona. Screams Antwan Randle-El and he thrived in Pittsburgh.

Overall I really like the draft, except the English and Williams picks.

No one ever explained to me why the Ravens would take a tackle in round 3 last time and I'm guessing I won't get an answer this time either. Loadholt would make even less sense than Boone and we still have no need for any tackles that early considering the depth we have at the position.

Yes Willie Anderson is old but Adam Terry is a very capable RT, Gaither played very well at LT all season and we have great depth in Yanda, Cousins and others. If we go OL by round three I'm guessing it will be center or guard depending on what happens with Jason Brown...even then the pick would only be for depth.

The Victor Harris and Jocoby Ford picks don't seem likely either. Ford is too similar to Clayton, we need a big target at receiver. There are way better corners than Harris available at 26 as well.

I still think you guys are putting too much emphasis on tight end for Atlanta, and for the Falcons to go three rounds without getting a defensive lineman would be a travesty.

Seriously, Mike Mularkey is our offensive coordinator. What Mularkey offense has featured a tight end prominently? I don't disagree that Atlanta is looking to upgrade at TE/H-back, but upgrading the defense is a far greater concern.

You can't seriously compare Williams to Hester!! Hester is first of all not very smart and has a hard time digesting the playbook or where to stand. He had I want to say single digit receptions in college!!

D Williams is a four year college wideout with 160 plus receptions. He had nearly more receptions his frosh and soph years of college than Hester has had in both his college and NFL careers.

If you want to compare them in stature that's one thing. They are both within an inch in height and ten pounds in weight. But I personally think it would be ridiculous if the comparisons went any further than that!

And another thing, what has Chris Williams shown you that makes you positive he can play left tackle in the NFL let alone be healthy? For all we know objectively at the moment we have a RT (st. clair) playing left tackle. Williams is a total question mark and Tait will not be back next year.

Denver's 1st and 3rd rounders I like. But in the 2nd McRath has no place in a 3-4. And Denver already has a similar player in Wesley Woodyard. I know McRath is a ILB but not in a 3-4, maybe not even in a Cover 2 4-3 in the NFL. Denver needs a SILB unless they like Larsen there, cus DJ would play WILB, where McRath would have to play if Denver took him. Delmas in the 2nd would probably work, or even English.

I think my timing is off a bit, but wasn't Heather Miller playing in Pittsburgh during Mularkey's time there?

As far as what Atlanta's going to do at 24, it's just to early to tell. Who knows what we'll do in free agency? Without knowing that, I think there's a number of positions the Falcons could wind up considering when their pick comes around: TE, RT, RG, C, DE, DT, OLB, CB, or SS.

I'd rather see them go "D," too, but if they wind up addressing that side of the ball in free agency and the best guy available on their board is Pettigrew, then the pick will make sense.

Heath Miller had Whisenhut and Bruce Arians as his OCs in Pitt.

I like the picks for the Packers and would be happy if it goes down this way
B.J. Raji - Would be a force at NT and would definitely be perfect for the new 3-4 being put in in GB.
Rashad Jennings - There is definitely a need at RB with Ryan Grant not having the year we thought he would, hopefully LeSean McCoy or Shonn Greene though fall to us. I like them a little more than Jennings, but I'd be happy with him.
Troy Kropog - Clifton is getting old and so is Tauscher so OT is a need andKropog could eventually replace Clifton when he is gone/done.

The comparison is the type of receiver they are. I agree with you that Hester isn't and shouldn't be considered their starter, but you know that they think that they can turn him into a #1. If they go after a receiver I would think that they would want to complement him.

As for the right tackle. Williams got hurt at the start of training camp and St. Claire played good at the start of the year before tanking. They are not going to give up on him after one year.

I am not saying they will or should give up on williams. But I think it would be foolish not take another tackle. As of right now they have ONE starting NFL tackle and he is an average right tackle who played LT last year because the 14th overall pick had a back problem ( a well documented one at that)

I will agree with you that Derrick Williams doesn't exactly compliment Hester. But he would be a good pick in the mid 2nd round IMO.

The odds of the bears drafting even one of those three guys is slim as h3ll anyways.

On #2 - If you need another OT, why not take one? This team needs to sort its offensive line, so why not?
On #3 - I take the point, I'll probably change that next time!

Hmmm...I'm working on the premise that Anderson needs replacing sooner rather than later, hence the OT pick. Again, I'll look at that in greater detail next time so thanks for the feedback.

Thanks. I just was wondering if there was something I was missing.
