I know that they might have been looking at a LB or CB, but is somebody like Chris Wells a possibility?

I guess it would be a "possibility," but they could, conceivably, have a good-enough backfield with Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, and Aaron Stecker sharing the load. It's also a possibility that Deuce re-signs with the team -- he might not be in high demand with some other RBs on the market.

Honestly, though, defense HAS to be the #1 priority for New Orleans this off-season. They've been atrocious the past few years and really need to upgrade, especially in the secondary.

That 7.5 mil had to get them under the cap.

And Jeff your right about the D. If they had anyone with talent that team would've been playoffs no doubt. I tink theres no way a HB goes in the 1st to them.. Pretty much BPA on efensse 1st coiple rounds. Curry or Jenkins in round 1 would be best situation.

Im wondering what Deuce is going to do, wether he re-signs with the team for less or goes to another team like maybe the Patriots?? And how well will he play now?? Interesting things to watch.

Deuce is effectively done... It has been a struggle to keep himself physically ready for 16 games the last few years and now with his weight management requiring extras to stay in check I think this'll be the end of the end for him...

Deuce will be a spot back for someone he still has some game left, but he definitely will not make it through the season completely healthy regardless.

I give him one more season yet. I don't know that he'll be able to stay healthy for it all, but, I think a team will take a shot on his leadership an veteran role and bring him in as a backup. I could see him going to the Pats to try for a ring before he leaves. But i see a strong possibility of him retiring as well...
