Leroy is a 6'1", 227 LB for Northwood University in Michigan. He has led his team in tackles the past two seasons and is presently working out with Robert Haynes. He claims the following:

The 40 i run a 4.56, the shuttle 4.10, L Drill 6.93, bench 23 reps. I am from Hollywood, Fl. I went to McArthur High School where i played 2 years of high school football. In high school i played
running back and linebacker. I came to Northwood in 04, i redshirted my first year and
shared playing time for the next couple of years. I got my starting job my junior year
and led the team in tackles for the next 2 years.

Let me welcome Leroy to CDS and start things off here with a question or two...

Leroy, are you going to be at the pro day at GVSU also?

Do you have any SS experience?

Who's your agent and what has he been telling you so far about interest levels?

Would you play in the CFL if you had to go that route?

Again, welcom. Hope you enjoy the cite. Thanks for requesting your own forum here.

Hey Leroy, I just wanted to say good luck in the coming months. I love to see any and every GLIAC player possible get a crack at the NFL.

What would you say your weaknesses are that need to be improved before the pro days/draft?

Hey Leroy.

What are you favorite lifting excersises and which excersises do you believe help out the most?

My favorite lifting excercise is doing pull ups, push ups and flipping upside down and doing overhead press because i believe its good to use your own body weight. I believe power cleans help out the most because that workout gets you real explosive.

Thanks for the quick response.. What do you think about chest excerises? Other than Bench Press that is. I think it's overated honestly...

You are welcome..I think chest excercises are important but to do the ones that are more football related because many people do different kind of chest exercises just to look good infront of the mirror..i dont think bench is overated..its i think one of the most important workouts because it works out more than your chest but your triceps and upper back.

Hey everyone, I was at GVSU's pro day to watch Leroy (as well as Robert Haynes) and they both did very well. Leroy was one of about 7 players that they pulled aside for some positional drills while another 20 guys sat on the side watching.

Here's the paragraph I did for him on Scout.com:

The other notable performance on the day was from Northwood's Leroy Goulbourne who put up 23 reps of the bar and ran a 4.82-second and 4.75-second 40-yard dash while also recording a 6.98-second 3-cone drill.

Yea i was so disappointed in my results because i have done way better but im trying to get another pro day to show what i can really do.

Leroy, if you do way better than that...watch out! Those are very respectable numbers. The fact you got pulled aside is HUGE.

Be encouraged, my friend. This is very good news for you!!

Congrats and good luck at the next one!

What kind of feedback were you getting from the scouts at the GVSU Pro Day? Were there any position coaches there?
