I had a lot of respect for the opinions of this site, until I saw in your new mock you had
William Beatty at number 32. If you have him there what are the combines for. He did better in the 40 , board jump, bench press, 3 cone drill ,then britton, oher, and moroe. He out did J smith in the 40, board jump, 3 cone drill. Moroe only beat him in the vertical and Jason smith only beat him in the bench and vertical. The rest of the sites don't see it your way. Are you saying the combines don't stay for anything? He was already at 32 in a lot of sites before combine. I have been following this kid and he has shown character. He needed to gain weight and he did, he needed to show up at the combine he did. He is a good example in what hard work can do and you don't give him the credit. He is the best pass and run blocker in the draft. Get it right , Call it fair. William is at least the number three line man in this draft.
Easy, baywest, easy. Everbody's entitled to their own opinion. The Combine is one of many measuring sticks for draft prospects, not the only one. Sure, impressive numbers will likely raise a player's chances of going higher, but it is not the only evaluation tool out there. There's the player's collegiate career as a whole, his performance in any all-star games he may have participated in, his interviews during the combine, his injury history, his Wonderlic score, whether or not his style of play fits a particular NFL team's scheme, his school's Pro Day (if he elects to participate in that), etc., etc., etc...
You may very well be right - he may go higher, perhaps much higher - in the first round, and if he does, kudos to you for calling it.
But it's also possible that we may be right. We''l see on April 25 - 26.
P. S. - remember every scout's mantra when it comes to Combine numbers: "Remember Mike Mamula?"
