I would personally love Sanchez to fall to us.... doubt that happens.

We need a Safety terrible bad!... but how much better would the secondary be if we had a respectable pass rush? Quite a bit I would say.

DHB is my favorite wideout in this draft. But I might be a blabbering contradiction for this worry.
Even though he is my favorite WR is he wrong for the bears? Orton has a lousy deep ball and that is where DHB's specialty would be. Do we need an underneath possession playmaker like Maclin? But he will be gone OR do they need a big physical take the ball away WR like Britt? 18 might be too early for him. Or do you take the best WR available regaurdless of your QB's weakness?

O-line has to be addressed!!

I assume we will get a third for the loss of Berrian

As of right now without the bears addressing much of anything in FA, this is how I would draft if I were GM. Not what I think Angelo will do.

Round 1 DE Michael Johnson
round 2 WR Hakeem Nicks, Kenny Britt or Brian Robiskie
round 3 S nic Harris
round 3 OT troy kropog (comp pick)

Obviously FA and pro days will change everything

I would love that draft except we both know that Angelo probably won't do it.

Personally I would take try and trade down in the first round and get Nicks. Then take a RT like Loadholt in the second and look for a safety in the third.

I can't get a reel good feeling for Michael Johnson in the pro's, he's awful linky. As the draft goes it's all about value, and needs. If Johnson is picked befor the 3rd round I will be surprised. Even in the 3rd, if he's a bust you're blowing alot of value that could be used in more certainty. I do like all 3 rec's. Especially Robiskie. He's probably the 1st or 2nd best pro reciever in the draft, but I really feel strong about Percy Harvin. Despite what some say, he is not just like Hester. Except for the explosiveness. He will add more than recieving to the bears. He is a strong runner, and on the field every bit as fast as Chris Johnson. Rd.2 I wouldn't be surprised at all if Sean Smith is still sitting there waiting for someone to draft him as a safety. Then in the 3rd, I'm going Pat White and here comes the wildcat, the spread , the option, and make no mistake he may be a bit short, but has a strong arm, accuracy, and a good deep ball. P.S. I can't believe all the people that think stafford should go first. If the lions want to keep up the good work thats a great idea, and they can ruin his career at the same time!

How is Hester and Harvin not similar? Both are small receivers whose main strength is their elite speed. Both are explosive, but both are not complete recivers. Hester struggled to find a position on offense at Miami and is still learning how to play reciver with the Bears. Harvin played reciever and running back at Florida and a lot of people are comparing him to Reggie Bush. Now with all that said, why would the Bears draft Harvin when "THEY" believe that they can develop Hester into a #1. If they do go after a receiver look for them to find somebody to complement Hester. Heyward-Bey could be the option. He reminds me of Bernard Berrian, and Heyward-Bey's main strength is also the deep ball. That doesn't really complement Hester that well either. Personally I think Nicks should be their target. He is not a ultra fast receiver, but he has great hands and could work the middle or short routes so Hester can work deep.

Second. There is no way that Michael Johnson falls the the thrid round. He has first round talent. This is the NFL, some team will believe that they can light that fire under him and take him either late first round or somewhere in the second.

But I do need to realize that this is coming from somebody that in their mock draft has Michael Crabtree falling to 19 in the draft and Chris Wells going #5.

round 3 S nic Harris

I could be wrong, but isn't Nic Harris been working out at LB? They don't need another Adam Achaletta.

Bears already had a below offensive line. Then today we cut backup G Terrance Metcalf

Our starting o-line as of right now looks like.

LT Chris Williams (total mystery with bad back)
LG Frank Omiyale (replacing Josh Beekman, one of the smallest Gaurds in the league last year)
C Olin Kruetz (still solid but aging)
RG Roberto Garza (solid above average)
RT John St. Clair (hopefully all he ever does is play RT, if we had a great line he wouldn't even start)

Seeing as how the bears have less o-linemen then when the season ended, they should draft 3 o-line men and 2 of them better be in the first 4 picks.

Which leaves one of the other 2 remaining first four picks has to be a WR. Leaving; pass rusher, S, QB, LB as next priorities at the least.

I still contend the bears are conceding the 2009 season because of the length of Angelo and Smith's contracts. So far they have done nothing to make me think any different!!

Yuck, no we don't. I didn't realize that, though he could be a really good LB.

Yeah I agree with you about him being a good linebacker, just not a cover 2 safety.
