What is this nastiness to our new regime? Honestly Cleveland Brown fans are the best fans......but the nastiest, most pessimistic fans during the off-season; oh ya and after the first four games. I understand your continuous disappointment, but Kokonis and Mangini are making shrewd moves. They are rebuilding the team through the draft like the elite teams in the NFL do (Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Giants, Dallas, Colts.) so for once be appreciative of a good GM; there is no quick fix for a dysfunctional team like our Browns. Are only younger fans like me (20 years) the logical ones? Maybe it is because we were too young to remember the old Browns.

i think that has a big part to play, that you're a younger fan. you're right, too, in saying there's no quick fix for the browns. it starts, though, with picking a QB, sticking with him, and probably shipping the other one out. you want a competent backup, yes, but not two guys who you would be tempted to flip-flop between. from things i've heard, too, mangini isn't a fan of quinn. i could be wrong, though, and you would know more than i would about that.

you seem to have a decent core there. it's just getting a few more pieces, and putting it all together.

The only way to help the Browns is to get a good, aggressive defensive coordinate (which we have in Rob Ryan) and build through the draft, defense first; follow the blue print of the Giants, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore. I totally agree with almost everything, but I believe Brady Quinn should be the guy, he just seems safer. The games he has started he did good, minus the ones with his injured finger. I believe we should trade DA for his value (either a low 1st round, or a second and another pick next year or a later round this year) and go with Quinn. He has sat and learned, and I don't see a qb in better physical shape then BQ in the NFL. I am sure Kokonis has the better idea of which is the qb to go with then me at this point. Mangini is a hard read, I don't believe we will know who he likes or not on our team till pre-season

IMO, DA's value has plummeted. Try somewhere between a 3rd and 5th, and you're in the realistic ballpark of what you will get for him.

That is the beauty of the NFL, it is the league of potential...and one thing you cannot argue is Derek Anderson's potential. He is 6-6 230, crazy rocket arm, great accuracy on deep throws, ok accuracy on medium, and bad at the short/intermediate range. Not to mention he has a good price and is young in years (25 years). Some one will take a chance for at LEAST Matt Cassel value.

Word is starting to come out that Mangini actually prefers Anderson, and the QB the Browns are shopping is Quinn. The latest I've heard, is a proposed 3-way deal that would send Quinn to the Broncos to run McDaniels new offense, Cutler would end up in Detroit, and the Lions would give Cleveland the No.1 pick in the draft. I'd pass if I were the Lions and take Curry or the OT they like best.

Wow....that would be a lot of money the Browns would invest in this draft. They better get two pro bowlers. Aaron Curry and micheal crabtree possibly? Curry and orakpo? Curry and Malcolm Jenkins.....or my personal favorite. Trade both for lower picks.

There's a new rumor being circulated at the NY Daily Post, I believe, of a 3-way between the Jets, Broncos, and Browns, with the Jets getting Cutler, the Broncos getting Quinn, and the Browns getting some high draft picks. I tend to think the Broncos will deal Cutler, but if it doesn't happen by the end of next week, it won't happen until on or just before draft day while they mull over offers, or hope Cutler comes to his senses.

The NFL is not a league of potential (maybe in the sveneth round of the draft it is)....but for the most part the league is rules by 7 words...(WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY). For Anderson the answer that question is nothing. He won't draw anywhere near Cassel's value, I would think long and hard before I traded a 3rd round pick for him.

I don't think I would have too much trouble trading a 2nd or 3rd for Anderson. Who in this draft after the 1st 3 QBs can match him today in talent or potential? There might be one or two, but they'll likely be projects themselves for 2-3 years down the road before starting to play. He's still a work in progress himself, but he's at least part way down that project road, and he has displayed an arm that's NFL caliber, and has REAL NFL starting experience. His main body of work that needs to be completed is in his recognition of defense alignments, and decision making, and those will come with yet more experience. IMO, before this draft is over, I think the Browns will be major players in a number of deals. I still think they'll trade Edwards, perhaps to the Giants for Smith and a draft pick or two, but I do think he's going somewhere. I also think either Anderson or Quinn will go too. They have two 2nd rounders now, theirs and Tampa's, and it's not too far out of the realm to think they could end up with as many as four 2nd rounders...and who knows what they might get in return should they decide to trade their NT, Rogers.
HopeBytheLake
nyyjones- I totally agree. I can safety say that Rodgers won't be traded, and niether will Quinn. Derek is going to get shipped, and Braylon has a fifty percent chance....most likely to New York and Philly.
