I am a subscriber to the Sporting News magazine and I just got my copy tonight and was looking through it and got to a mock draft that Russ Lande and "his team of former scouts" made. Here it is. I think you will find it amusing.
1. Lions: Everette Brown DE Florida State
2. Rams: Jason Smith OT Baylor
3. Chiefs: BJ Raji DT Boston College
4. Seahawks: Aaron Curry LB Wake Forrest
5. Browns: Matt Stafford QB Georgia
He says, "The Browns WILL draft a QB at #5. New GM George Kobinis and new coach Eric Mangini dno't like Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson and hav put both on the trading block.
6. Bengals: Eugene Monroe OT Virgina
7. Raiders: Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
8. Jaguars: Andre Smith OT Alabama
9. Packers: Larry English DE/OLB Northern Illinois
10. 49ers: Mark Sanchez QB USC
11. Bills: Brian Orakpo DE Texas
12. Broncos: Rey Maualuga LB USC
13. Redskins: Brian Cushing LB USC
14. Saints: Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio State
15. Texans: Louis Delmas S Western Michigan
16. Chargers: Chris Wells RB Ohio State
17. Jets: Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
18. Bears: Kenny Britt WR Rutgers
19. Buccaneers: Josh Freeman QB Kansas State
20. Lions: Alphonso Smith CB Wake Forrest
21. Eagles: Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma State
22. Vikings: William Beatty OT UConn
23. Patriots: Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia
24. Falcons: Evander Hood DT Missouri
25. Dolphins: Clint Sintim LB Virgina
26. Ravens: Percy Harvin WR Florida
27. Colts: Fili Moala DT USC
28. Eagles: Michael Oher OT Mississippi
29. Giants: Jared Cook TE South Carolina
30. Darrius Heyward-Bey WR Maryland
31. Cardinals: LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh
32. Steelers: Alex Mack C California
Half of it isn't bad, but Everette Brown #1, Stafford to the Browns, Larry English before Orakpo. Kenny Britt before Hakim Nicks or Heyward-Bey.
But I shouldn't have expected much. I bought the Sporting News draft magazine last year at it was a complete joke. In their analysis of the Vikings roster they said that Tavarrius Jackson was an elite player.
