I am a subscriber to the Sporting News magazine and I just got my copy tonight and was looking through it and got to a mock draft that Russ Lande and "his team of former scouts" made. Here it is. I think you will find it amusing.

Half of it isn't bad, but Everette Brown #1, Stafford to the Browns, Larry English before Orakpo. Kenny Britt before Hakim Nicks or Heyward-Bey.

But I shouldn't have expected much. I bought the Sporting News draft magazine last year at it was a complete joke. In their analysis of the Vikings roster they said that Tavarrius Jackson was an elite player.

I think Britt can easily be picked before DHB and Nicks. I basiclly view Nicks and Britt as the same type of prospect, but i think Britt's excellent combine could put him above him. Not a surprise to me. But Everette Brown, a one year wonder at #1 is insane. I would rather have orakpo or raji at 1 if our going dline

Yeah half of it isn't and there are certainly some surprises on draft day but c'mon. This really is a joke. Why would you buy this?

I used to get that publication too. I love the magazine but the mocks are brutal. I don't think the guys do any research.

I didn't buy the issue I have a subsciption to the magazine. Use to love the magazine, but they changed the format and its not as good as it use to be. I did buy their draft magazine last year and it was terrible. That is where they he said that Tavarrius Jackson is an elite player. Its funny cause my roommate at the time is vikings fan and he laughed his a$$ off over that comment.

On another note, does anybody know who puts out a really good draft magazine. Like I said before I bought the Sportingnews last year at it was terrible and the year before I bought ESPN's and it wasn't half bad, but they don't make it anymore. Any suggestions???? I saw Libby's and I like their college basketball previews.

Pro Football Weekly's Draft Preview is the best printed version.

I personally think Pro Football Weekly is the best (besides us, of course! ). After that, Lindy's is pretty good (I know Bendo is very high on them). The SportingNews and ESPN are ok.

I wonder if the NFL Network will ever publish a magazine like that? I know Bendo far prefers Mike Mayock over Todd McShay, who in turn he far prefers over Mel Kiper, Jr.

Tough to put out a printed mock and rankings because they change so much and so often. If you think about the mock even a month and a half ago and the newest mock, i doubt there are too many players in the same position.
