This isn't specifically Eagles news, but anyone in the Philadelphia area certainly must be aware of the passing of the sports anchor for the local ABC affiliate (WPVI-6). Gary Papa was one of the most genuine and caring people around. He was always upbeat, even while battling cancer in a very public forum.

Philadelphians care intensely about their sports and grow very attached to those who report on them. It was evident earlier this year with the passing of everyone's surrogate father/grandfather, Harry Kalas. The city has lost some truly amazing broadcasters -- Gene Hart, Richie Ashburn, Harry the K, and now Gary Papa.

Rest in peace, Gary.
