My top 10:

#1. Javid Best RB Cal 5'10" 208 4.38 He may arguably be the most electrifying player in college football. He was a highly regarded track athlete in high school, where he ran a 10.32 100 and was the state’s top 100 meter runner. However he is much more than a track star. He has agility, balance, quickness to go along with nearly world class speed and like all Cal backs since Chuck Muncie he is a fine receiver. If he can harness all of his natural ability, he can be a star in the NFL.
#2. C.J. Spiller RB Clemson 5'10.5 193 4.37 Similar to best but smaller framed and less powerful
#3. DeMarco Murray RB Oklahoma 6'0" 204 4.44 Reggie Bush but bigger? He has everything but durability.
#4. Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech 5'11" 236 4.49 Best blend of quickness and power in the draft
#5. Charles Scott RB LSU 5'10.7" 234 4.59 "Poor man's and slower man's" Jamal Lewis
#6. LeGarrette Blount RB Oregon 6'1" 242 4.56 As good as Beanie but in a deeper RB class
#7. Lonyae Miller Fresno 5'11 224 4.54 Well-rounded but not flashy WCO styled back.
#8. James Starks 6'1" 212 4.53 Long strider similar to Matt Forte, should be a good pro.
#9. Joe McKnight 5'11" 199 He might stay in school, but if he comes out he is a perfect change of pace back.
#10. Will Ford RB SCSU 5'10" 188 4.47 Reminds me of Joe Cribbs, strong for his size, very quick.

I don't much at all about these backs. How would you guys compare the RB class to the last two drafts?

Thanks

It's awfully early, but I would characterize it as below average at the top, average in middle-round talent, and weak at the bottom.

I agree, I think this class is far inferior to previous classes. The only two that I think are even close to 1st round caliber are Best and Dywer. And the best senior prospect is either Charles Scott or CJ Spiller and that would be a bad thing.

I think this class is undervalued at RB, several prospects like Damion Fletcher, Will Ford, Stafon Johnson, Joe McKnight, DeMarco Murray, LaGarrette Blount and Starks are guys that have something to prove about durability, timed speed, or hands but with great seasons and/or great post season workout they are all guys who could climb into the 2nd and have a shot at the 1st round. If 5-6 RBs went in the first that would make this a pretty good crop. wink.gif

Mr. Knowitall
This class is not impressive, it's a fairly weak class. I think Best has potential but I'm hesitant on him, I don't know if he can hold up at the NFL level without having another HB to split carries with. I really like Dwyer, I think he's the best HB in this draft and has the best chance at becoming a NFL workhorse.

I think a darkhorse that probably won't enter the draft is Moody on UF, the guy really impresses me and reminds me a lot of Fred Taylor. The guy has good speed and is extremely quick with nice juke moves but runs with power and is tough to take down. If he doesn't go out this season, I think he'll be a great pick in 2011.
