Who are your breakout players for the 2009 season?

Two guys who are definitely already on the map but who I expect to breakout into the elite this year:

DeSean Jackson WR Phi
Eddie Royal WR Den

I also have both of these sophomore WR's on my fantasy team lol.

Very good choices Sam!

I'd add Oakland RB Darren McFadden, Chicago WR Earl Bennett, Dallas WR Roy Williams.

I'd add: Anthony Gonzalez, Donald Brown, LeSean McCoy, Rashard Mendenhall, more a resurgence than a breakout for Jeremy Shockey and super sleeper H-Back Rob Meyers. wink.gif

I'll add WR Nate Washington of the Titans.

If Zach Bowman could stay healthy then I would say him. Al Afalava is another player to watch. He has had rave reviews coming out of camp as a physical hitter and a potential starter as a rookie this year.

RT chris williams (do OL count? I might just be wishful thinking)

I agree on all of those also expect bigger years from: Jason Campbell, Dustin Heller, Bo Scaife, and as much as I hate to say it, Chris Henry. ohmy.gif

I don't know if a rookie can qualify as a "breakout" player, but I have a strong hunch Shawn Nelson is going to be surprisingly productive in Buffalo.

Which Chris Henry?

It's nice to see when the "switch" turns on for some of these guys. I'll definitely be looking for bigger and better things from WR Chris Henry this season.

As for the other Chris Henry (RB-TEN), he's caught in a bad sitch. He's got Johnson and White ahead of him, and now Javon Ringer is in the fold. A team like Chicago should see what it would take to get Henry as a back-up to Forte. St. Louis could really use him too, since none of the guys behind Steven Jackson have distinguished themselves.
