Quentin Castille a 6'1 235lb running back for Nebraska was dismissed for the team yesterday. He and Roy Helu where the two headed monster the Huskers where planning on reling on this season.

I know that he isn't a huge draft prospect right now for the 2010 draft, but he was dismissed from the team saturday. He is listed as the #2 Fullback here, although I believe that he won't play fullback and is a LenDale White/Brandon Jacobs type of runner. (Not in Jacobs league, don't get me wrong). He was poised for a big year. He ran for 576 yards last year splitting time with Roy Helu and Marlon Lucky. He even had 125 yards against Clemson in the Gator Bowl. He was suppose to be a junior this year with a redshirt possbility so he should have two years of elgibility when he transfers.

That's a shame. Thanks for the story, Johanns!

The comparison I would have made was Najeh Davenport, he'll need to be more productive and keep his nose squeaky clean to be more than a UDFA. wink.gif

Yeah the comparison to Davenport right now is a good one. I think he had a chance to be better though. He was supposively having a huge fall camp and poised to break out this year. But coach Pelini gave him multiple chances and he still screw it up. It will be interesting to see where he lands. He was going to be a junior this year. He never redshirted, so where ever he ends up he'll have two years to play. I look for him to find a school somewhere around Texas (where he is from)

Abeline Christian did great things with the even more troubled Bernard Scott, I wonder if he's considereing them, Texas Southern, TX State or TX A&M Kingsville? unsure.gif

I'm curious if he might look at a lower conference school. Maybe a UTEP, TCU, Tulsa, Rice, Houston or some other place like that. He is defentily a D1 player.

He is from LaPorte Texas which is a suburb of Houston.

So he'd be willing to sit for a year? unsure.gif

I don't know, but if he went to another D1 school, he could redshirt this year and still have two more years of elgibility remaining.

Or he could transfer to a D-2 school and play right now (if he's academically eligible - which I'll make the assumption he is).

He could join the 30+ transfers that Terry Bowden has lured to the University of Northern Alabama (7 alone are from FSU).
Johanns21
Thats very true, but what I was trying to say is that he still has the ability to redshirt. So he could still go to another D1 school he won't loose any eligibility. I have no idea what Queintin is going to do. The local media hasn't mentioned any possible transfers. He could go D2 or even FCS and play right away if he chooses.

Isn't Marcus Sims (former FSU FB and current brother of Ernie) at Northern Alabama too? Seems to me he has a somewhat similar skill set and might be better off at some of the schools that Bill mentioned.

Well the speculation is over. Castille has enrolled at Northwestern State in Lousiana which is less than four hours from LaPorte where he is from. He considered Memphis, Oregon and Texas Southern. He plans on starting classes today and hopes to be playing in their first game Sept 5th vs Houston.

An interesting note, the head coach at Northwestern State is Bradley Dale Peveto who was the linebackers coach at LSU when Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini was the defensive coordinator.
