Sporting News reports Buffalo Bulls 2008 leading RB James Starks is done for the season with a shoulder injury.

Dang ... I was excited about him ... will be interesting to see what he does now (he is a fifth year senior) and how he recovers ... and how this will affect the Bulls and Coach Turner Gill (who himself has been generating a lot of interest at upper tier programs.)

That's a shame. I wanted to see him do well this fall too. Guess that puts a bit more weight on Naaman Roosevelt's shoulders. We'll see if he can handle it.

Starting Akron QB Chris Jaquemain dismissed from team!

AKRON — University of Akron head football coach J.D. Brookhart announced today that quarterback Chris Jacquemain has been removed from the Zips’ football team for a violation of team policy. He will remain on scholarship through the Department of Athletics.

“I would like to apologize to the University, coaches, team and fans for some bad decisions on my part,” Jacquemain said. “Right now, I will try to put this behind me and concentrate on completing my degree.”

Brookhart said, “We are going to support Chris and hope he does all he needs to do in order to graduate. As a team, we will have to come even closer together and rally as we start conference play this week.”
