I have loved HOF coach Ault's Pistol since I laid eyes on it it has some: Run and Shoot, veer/flexbone elements, some from the old Homer Rice Cincinnati offense and some stuff that's pure Ault. The stregths are that you can run a wide variety of zone-read, belly, Power O, sweeps, and even play action; one of the most powerful advantages that the Pistol Offense provides over other offenses is that it allows the ball carriers to run downhill much faster than other spread formations and still has the spread elements that dictate match up and force a defense to simplify itself.
