A game played partly in a downpour. It was sloppily played and brutal to watch. AK St. was driving for the win but ULM stepped up and got the 4 down stop to win the game.

College: Arkansas State Conference: Sunbelt Columnist: Brett Walker
Name # Ht Wt Speed Pos Class Game Notes
Reggie Arnold 2 5' 8.5" 217 0.00 HB 2010
14/47 rushing. Working on his 4th consecutive 1,000 yard season. A small low to the center of the ground style back. Lacks the super quicks needed, but does have some of that strength. Probably ends up much like Louisiana Lafayette's back last year Tyrell Fenroy and goes undrafted, but gets into a camp. Grade: Slightly negative.

Alex Carrington 98 6' 4.0" 284 4.75 DE 2010
3 solos 2 assists 1 QBH. A prospect who has been getting some hype didn't really live up to it tonight. Got doubled often or chipped. Not a great speed rusher. Not a great bull rusher. Needs to develop a few more moves. He may be best suited as a 3-4 DE as he does hold his ground and doesn't get moved much. Shows a good ability to shred blockers in the run game and force the RB back inside. Grade: Slighlty Positive

College: UL-Monroe Conference: Sunbelt Columnist: Brett Walker

Cardia Jackson 51 6' 1.0" 240 4.75 LB 2010
9 solos 5 assists 1 pass defensed. Looks the part and plays it well. A solid MLB prospect who has the disposition. Strong hitter. Makes tackles in space. Solid in pass drops. Grade: Very Positive

James Truxillo 34 6' 1.0" 209 4.60 S 2010
3 solos 2 assists 1 interception 1 PBU Johnny on the spot style safety. Always around the ball and makes plays. Coming off a knee injury last year. Heady player who has good instincts and football IQ. The kinda player coaches love. Left game in 3rd QTR with a knee injury. Needs to continue his solid play and test well. Gets into a camp if healthy. Grade: Positive

Aaron Morgan 9 6' 3.0" 224 4.65 DE 2010
6 solos 2 assists 1 sack. A long lean speed rusher. Gets after the QB and faced a boat load of double teams or chips. Looked to stop him but AK St. couldn't. Great motor and has good explosion. Looks like a track athlete coming out of his stance. Will need to bulk up for the next level or show he can drop into coverage and convert into a LB. Either was he probably is one of the players this year from the Sunbelt who gets drafted. Probably late round draftee. Grade: Very Positive

Game Notes: SO LB ULM Troy Evans made two huge sacks to stop AK St. in the 4th qtr. The sacks were back to back...ULM RB JR Frank Goodin had 27/107 rushing and 1 TD....Brandon Thompkins WR AK St. had 5/90 receiving and 4/99 on KR. Fights for the ball tries hard to break tackles. Very smurfish at 5-9 and 180 lbs. He's a SR and I'll put him in the next AK St. Game I do.

Who would you take first? Jackson or Morgan?

Any ideas how we can get a firm grip on Morgan's lateral agility and pass drop potential?

I'd go with Morgan. Higher ceiling and could be pretty good. Jackson may turn out to be JAG. Good MLB but doesn't make the tranisition to the next level.

I'll take a look at some games I got on tape when I get a chance to see if I got Morgan dropping back into coverage more.
