I think everybody already knows that Suh has been dominating so far this season and is almost a lock to be a top 10 pick. But I was able to be at the Nebraska vs Iowa State game in person and noticed something about him that shocked me and made him appreciate his talent even more.

I've heard fellow defensive lineman say that during games Suh will suggest doing certain things (like twisting or making other moves outside the offense) and them doing it and it resulting in sacks or quarterback hurries. But in the Iowa State game I saw that Suh was making the defensive calls. You know the ones that usually the middle linebackers make. Suh would stay up and comminicate with middle linebacker Will Compton about what audibles they should make and then would get into his stance. How many other defensive lineman can do that.

The short answer is very, very few. I'm sold.

#1 pick in the draft...unless it's Gerald McCoy. But right now Suh is the better player.

McCoy may have not maxed yet.

Suh is just plain SCARY good.

I focused on Suh when they played Missouri, and he was a one-man wrecking crew. He had 1 sack, (Should have been two, but he was called on a bogus face-mask penalty.), 1 FF, and 1 Int. He almost had another interception when he dropped back to cover & just dropped the ball.

I mean, what CAN'T he do? I believe he could come into the NFL & not only play DE in a 3-4, but also a 4-3. In fact, with his skills, he could occasionally line up at OLB & rush from there. Dude is 6-3, 300 lbs., and has practically no body fat. That's like having a 315 pounder with 275 lb. speed & quickness.

If the Browns can get the Brady Quinn mess fixed, and he can prove to be an able NFL QB, they should definitely go with Suh with the first pick. Face it, they are THE worst team in the NFL. I know they need offensive help, but Suh is a once in a generation player. Then they can draft, like 5 offensive linemen with their next 5 picks..ha ha.

The University of Nebraska launched this website to help promote him.

Just thought I would throw this out there. The year that Bill Callahan was fired Suh was thinking of transfering to Oregon State. Callahan was fired and he started to think about it more. Pelini was able to convince him to stay.

Suh is a 4-3 UT, I think him playing any other position would seriously hinder him as a player. I think he could be a very good 4-3 UT in the NFL, I just am not sure. I am really impressed when I watch this guy but something is making me uneasy about him lol. Maybe it's just that he seems to have maxed his growth potential. I think he's a pretty safe pick but with DTs in the 1st round, who knows.

I think he's athletic and physical enough to easily translate to a 3-4 defensive end. I will be shocked if he doesn't go number one no matter what team picks first CLE,STL,TB, or DET could all use him.

It will certainly help him that there isn't a standout LT or QB this year. He may be the most gifted kid in the draft. Maybe the most athletic too, but I want to see what kinda numbers Tate, Benn and Lockler put up. Either way this kid is the goods.

As far as maxing out his growth potential, a lot of gms and scouts said that about peyton manning (i know its a different position all together), they thought he was as good as he was going to get and wouldn't be able to go past his perceived peak at tennessee.

It's not that he doesn't translate there, it's that being a 3-4 DE would limit him as a player. Suh is so good because of his amazing ability to penetrate and collapse the pocket from the inside. A 3-4 DEs job is to mainly occupy blockers, collapse the pocket from the outside and try to open things up for the blitzing OLB. Suh just isn't a great fit as that to me.

Yea but that's really a completely different situation, like you said, it's a different position and skillset all together.

Yeah he wouldn't be best suited to be a 3-4 defensive end, but if you were a team that had a chance to draft him it would be hard not to pass him up. At Nebraska he played the NT spot of their 4-3 and was expected to cover two gaps and still found was to pressure the quarterback and disrupt the running game in the backfield. So he should do pretty well in the 3-4. He can man two gaps and still get pressure there too.
