Since the recent spate of FCS victories and near victories over FBS teams these kinds of match ups are seen as more intriguing than they might have been in the past, however a shellacking like this one reminds you of the difference in depth, facilities and preparation that can still exist between the two. Dan LeFevour has been called the MACs Tebow, he is a big strong athlete and is actually a more polished passer than the UF Heisman Laureate. He actually did fairly little as the game got out of hand almost immediately. Carl Volny rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns Volny scored on 5- and 2-yard runs in the third quarter. Quarterback Dan LeFevour completed 10-of-12 passes for 92 yards and rushed for two touchdowns. Antonio Brown scored on a 55-yard punt return, and Tim Phillips added a 2-yard touchdown run. Andrew Aguila contributed two field goals.
The Chippewa defense held Alcorn State to just 36 yards rushing. Braves quarterback Tim Buckley was 7 of 16 for 89 yards, including a 43-yard pass to Anton DeJarnett. Alcorn State was manhandled on both sides of the ball and never looked to threaten CMU in any way.

Yards and 3 rushes for 9 yards and 2 TDs. IMHO hes a top 5 QB and a bargain after the mid 2nd.
Jr. WR #29 Antonio Brown 59 5/8 182 4.43 Is a speedster in the mold of Steve Smith though not as strong or feisty. He was largely held in check as a WR by the score and good coverage by Rod Williams, he closed the day with 32 yards on 8 catches, but his 55 yard return TD showed he is also a very valuable returner and with a good 2011 should be off the board by the mid 4th round.
Jr. WR #7 Kito Poblah 61 3/8 203 4.56 [est.] The Montreal-born receiver is a rangy red-zone threat with agility, leaping ability and decent speed, he was a HS teammate of Volny and played QB and S, he is growing into the position, 1 catch for 4 yards, UDFA at least based on raw ability, he will also have CFL chances.
RS Jr. TB #29 Carl Volny 59 7/8 197 4.51 [est.] is a tough, elusive running back, he has good change of direction and can break tackles, he is still learning to read blocks. With a big year next season he could be a mid to late round pick.
Defense
#15 DE Sam Williams 62 3/4 241 4.66 [est.] Williams is quick, disruptive and undersized. He projects to OLB, he had been a LB before, and for the day he appeared to be healthy scratch. His measurables should make him a PUDFA.
#98 DE Frank Zombo 63 Ό 269 4.81 [est.] Zombo a converted TE is the leader on defense, though he only had 2 assists he turned many rushes back inside, he pushed the pocket and was more than a match for any blockers he faced. Though he lacks elite quickness he is the type of player coaches come to love, 7th to PUDFA.
Future Find: Freshman MLB # 47 Kyle Zelinsky 60 224 4.72 [est.] was the defensive star with 2 PBUs, 4 solo and 4 assists.
Alcorn State
The offense did nearly nothing, Alcorn States offense combined for 136 yards. WR # 3 Antonio DeJarnett 60 3/8 182 4.61 [est.], snagged an impressive 43 yarder and that was it, he showed good body control and ball skills, possible PUDFA with a big 2010 season.
Defense
Jr. CB # 30 Tomasi Fuller 58 5/8 172 4.59 [est.] fought bravely against CMUs big WRs and had 2 solo, 3 assists and a PBU, he showed good ball skills and instincts possible UDFA.
#1 CB Rodney Williams 59 Ό 181 4.44 [est.] One of the top CB prospects in the SWAC, Williams had good coverage on the speedy Brown and made a TFL in the running game finishing with 4 solo tackles. With a great pro day and postseason workouts the late 5th on down is possible.
#31 SS Carl Harris 60 199 4.57 he looks the part, is athletic and solid, yet he did nothing, could still be a PUDFA with great workouts.
Future Find: Sophomore MLB #52 Herve Tonye-Tonye 59 ½ 226 4.73 est.] was the star with 8 solo takedowns, 9 assists and a1TFL, from Cameroon by way of Montreal, he had initially wished to attend CMU, though most of his work was down field he flashed power, quickness and football IQ, could become a poor mans London Fletcher.
