#16 Delaware got their hats handed to them at home this past Saturday against a struggling JMU squad that came into this one having gone 0-4 in their previous month of football. However, Arthur Moats & Co. sacked PSU junior transfer Pat Delvin 7 times, and hurried him several others, as the visitors put the hurt, big time, on Delaware's playoff hopes.
SCOUTING SUMMARY (Delaware only)

Game Notes
Matt Marcorelle 11 6' 2.0" 250 4.70 DE 2010: He's still on the roster but I never saw him once. This was a guy that, as a sophomore, many were calling a future surefire NFL draft pick. I don't know what his issues are...wish I did. GRADE: INC
Mark Duncan 21 5' 10.7" 190 4.50 WR 2010: Catches pretty much only what he should catch. Gets into his routes quickly and cuts smoothly. Plays fast. Competes. Nice college receiver. GRADE: Neutral
Charles Graves 30 5' 11.5" 195 4.65 S 2010: Story of two halves. Very quiet in the first half, all over in the second. JMU unleashed the passing attack in the second half (QB Justin Thorpe had easily his best game as a starter) and this gave Graves more opportunities to show up in coverage. Recovered a fumble and rumbled for about 30 yards with it. Broke up a pass. Productive. Comes down hill in the running game and hits. A physical presence at this level. Too small and slow for anything more than a possible camp invitation at the next. GRADE: Neutral
Jon Striefsky 47 6' 0.6" 190 5.00 K 2010: Probably the best K prospect in the CAA. Gets decent height on his kickoffs, but not consistently. In this one, he landed them at the 5,7, and 9 respectively...Does his leg get tired as the game wears on? He also nailed FGs of 34 and 31 to go 7 of 8 on the season. Decent college kicker, but there are lots of better ones out there. GRADE: Neutral
John Higginson 53 5' 11.3" 250 4.80 DE 2010: Just a guy. Stays low and does OK at the POA. Looks smaller than we even list him here. Not a PP really....GRADE: Negative
Corey Nicholson 69 6' 2.4" 287 5.25 OG 2010: Uses hands well in pass pro. Squares off his pull, and arrives late at times. Pretty quick to the second level. Reolads his punch pretty quickly and keeps using it in pass pro. Misses with it occasionally. Big butt. Gets some push in short yardage. Solid footwork in pass pro. Has the potential to play mean, and will at times. Doesn't adjust well to threats to his sides. GRADE: Neutral
Pat Devlin 17 6' 3.2" 220 4.90 QB 2011: Highly-touted Penn State transfer, who has been getting a lot of ink and had been playing quite well prior to this one. He didn't look all that bad today either, he just was getting pounded by the relentless JMU rush. Doesn't have that many weapons either. Still, he plays a bit mechanical. Thinks he can run, and really shouldn't. Hangs on too long and takes sacks. He does scan the field and doesn't telegraph. Throws smartly from the ear. Does show good accuracy when he is not under harassment, especially in the short-intermediate range. Deep ball can flutter or hang. Appears to have only an average arm. Steps up to avoid the rush when he sees it, and can be fairly elusive in the pocket. Carries out nice fakes. Seems to know how to rally a team. Competes. GRADE: Neutral.
Josh Baker 80 6' 3.0" 245 4.80 TE 2010: DNP. Out with an injury.
OTHER NOTES:
Delaware: #96 DT Brandon Gilbeau flashed at times.
JMU: DE Arthur Moats racked up 3 sacks (involved in 4) and is still climbing draft boards. I'd say he's a solid 4-5th rounder now. His young bookend, #91 D.J. Bryant is going to be as good as Moats in time, if not better. WR Raghib McCarter (#8) is a future camp guy at worst. #7 QB Justin Thorpe showed amazing improvement in this one, and showed he can connect on the deep ball.
