The necessity of a good, experienced and confident QB to a team's overall success was never more evident than in this PSAC contest. Legit PP and Edinboro 4-year QB Trevor Harris (6'2.4", 234) had the Scots firmly in charge of this pivotal contest, 17-6 by halftime, but then went out with an apparent leg injury early in the third quarter, and the entire Scots team fell apart from that point on. The Eagles outscored the homestanding EU squad 24-0 in the second half to walk away with a win that puts them in a tie for second place in the western division. Harris's backup was totally ineffective, and those passes he did throw well were dropped--almost routinely--by his receivers. You could see that Clarion knew this game was theirs once Harris went down, and they took full advantage of Edinboro's misfortune.

SCOUTING SUMMARY:

Game Notes
Jacques Robinson 8 6' 2.0" 180 4.56 WR 2011: The PSAC's leading receiver was again the man of the hour in this one. Tall and makes the tough catches over the middle. Blocks pretty well. Hands appear to be at least adequate. Has a year to go...

Tyler Huether 5 6' 0.7" 210 4.95 QB 2010: Efficient game manager who was fairly highly-recruited coming out of H.S. Can run a little. Decent short-yardage accuracy. Careful with the ball. Doesn't throw where he shouldn't. Small, but pretty tough. Could make a sub-NFL league as a backup. Deserves an awful lot of credit for this upset win. Really threaded the needle a couple of times for crucial first downs. Solid form, footwork, and delivery. Carries out fakes well. Has no "wow" factor. Average to below average arm. Has some intangibles. GRADE: Positive

Matt Foradora 10 6' 5.0" 250 4.90 TE 2010: Blocks pretty well, and used a lot as an in-line blocker. Shoulder blocks at times and doesn't stick with blocks long enough at times. Can slip out and make plays in the passing game. Has above average hands and pro size. I'd love to know his weightroom numbers. Looks the part. 4.9 seems about right, but if he's faster he could sneak into a camp. Man among boys at this level of competition. GRADE: Positive

John Kalchthaler 70 6' 2.0" 280 5.00 C 2010: A fighter with the kind of disposition you want in your center. Leader. Wants to win and works hard. Has a nice PP base. Uses his hands well in PP. Drive blocks well in the running game. Not big enough, but the heart is the right size. Aware, alert and 100% committed. GRADE: Positive

Chris Kincaid 68 6' 5.0" 280 5.00 OT 2010: Not much of a run blocker. He is inconsistent in that area. Can clock people on occasion, but then stands around on others. Not a real hard worker, but has nice feet and gets the job done in PP at this level. Gets to the second level sometimes, but doesn't always get that much done when he gets there. GRADE: Slightly negative

College: Edinboro Conference: Division II Columnist: Staff

Trevor Harris 7 6' 2.4" 234 4.85 QB 2010: Gutsy winner with pro size and intelligence. Throws a catchable ball and a nice fade. Has some leadership qualities. Modest. Knows how to get the most out of his own ability and that of the people around him. Lacks a cannon. Runs pretty well and is an important part of the running attack at this level, but won't be able to get much done with that at the next level. Unspecified leg injury in the third quarter put him on crutches for the entire second half. Has a camp shot if he is healthy, but probably goes in the first cut down. GRADE: INC.

Houston Brown 5 5' 9.0" 205 4.60 CB 2010: Virtually unheard from in this one. Had a couple of tackles but was barely (if ever) challenged by Huether. Definitely has some skills, but he is probably even slower than 4.60. If I'm wrong, he deserves a look. GRADE: INC.

Jeremy Appell 54 6' 1.4" 233 4.90 DE 2010: Nice college DE who gets upfield and is fairly disruptive. Don't think he has the quick twitch or lateral agility to transition, and that is his only shot at a camp look. Had two sacks, two other TFLs, and a couple of additional tackles in this one. GRADE: Neutral

OTHER NOTES:

Clarion: They have a tiny RB (5'2", 130) who has big thighs and probably runs 4.5ish named Alfonso Hoggard. I dream of one of these guys making it in the NFL some day. This kid is a junior who is tough to find and tough to tackle when you do find him. One of the leading rushers in the PSAC. Returns punts. I could seem him leading the league next year.

Edinboro: DE Donnie Marstallar (#94) flashed some ability.
