I'm just curious of what others think about him.

Personally I think he is very similar to Percy Harvin, minus the off the field baggage. He is a receiver with a body of a running back. You put him on the Gators and he has the same impact that Harvin had.

I like the guy and the comparison to Harvin - he runs hard and gets low with his shoulders square (like a running back - which he was in high school) but also fast (4.4 with 17+ yards per catch for his career) and with great pass-catching ability. If ND wouldn't have been so inconsistent, I bet he would be much higher on many lists (good for him if ND can make a bowl) - I wonder if he will choose to enter the 2010 draft ... may depend on what happens to Weis ... he has had some impressive games (9 for 244 and a TD vs Washington and 7 for 127 and a TD vs Michigan State) this season.

One of many 'junior possibilities' out there ...

Not a bad comparison, however Harvin has a slight edge in Tate in strength and 1st step acceleration, though they have very comparable top ends, ironically think Harvin would have benefited from being used more as a 'real' wr in a pro style system. I like both but Harvin has a tad more upside while Tate's the more polished, on and off the field, IMHO. wink.gif

Comparison is a good one, but I think Tate is definitely the more polished receiver. He has tremendous leaping ability and vice-like hands, and almost never loses a jump ball. If he declares, wouldn't surprise me one bit if he went in the first round. Top-flight return guy, too.
