Full Version: A Bit Late but Worth Discussing
CDS Boards > General Access Boards > Discuss Prospects for the 2010 Draft Here
bcdrama
Of the QBs IMHO: Perrilloux, Higgins [2011 draft], Pulley ,[likely a WR projection as is Edwards], Beck have a chance to be drafted and my current QB man-crush Ward, Cundiff, Randolph and Tanney [2011] should invited to be in a camp. The other QBs seem like lower level, gamp body types.
Backs/WR/TEs:
RB: Joique Bell should be at least a mid round selection, Deji Karim a late-rounder or PUDFA.
Terrell Hudgins any where from late 4th to PUDFA depending on work outs and 40 time.
Odim,Paschall look like camp body/CFL guys.

O-Line:
Vladimir Ducasse and Tony Washington will need to answer questions about quickness/athletic ability, while for Veldheer the question is anchor and lower body strength all could be late rounders.

Defense this is a deep DE/OLB class and the CBs are good as well:
Most of the DEs are at least PUDFAs while, Anthony, Batten, Hart, Knicky, Lane, Maddox Moats and Ruffin, all have solid chances from the 5th on, largely depending on how many of them project to OLB.

The pickings a bit slim at LB: Hicks-Green and Lebsock both look like late-rounders the rest PUDFAs.

Safeties: Whitehead's not on the list, LeGree, McElroy and Thorton have an outside shot at the tail-end of the draft.

CB: A good year, Evans, Owusu-Ansah, Smith and Stoudamire are all likely to be drafted. Leroy Vann and Scotty McGee, while not on the list are also likely late-round selections as return men who may play 'Nickel.'

The DTs: Martin Parker is likely a PUDFA, as are the not listed- Justin Lawrence, Morgan State, Robert Callaway, Saginaw Valley State, Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, Texas A&M Kingsville and Sean Lissimore of W&M are possible rotation guys. Mychal Savage of Youngstown, Kommonyan Quaye, from South Dakota and DE/DT tweener Randy Earl, of Mankato have intriguing upside, but without an amazing pro day none are likely to be drafted. If any of you have special insight please comment. wink.gif

O-Line:
Vladimir Ducasse and Tony Washington I've seen and I wouldn't draft either one of them. Veldheer I haven't but Jay has and swears he's a legit draft pick. Chaz Millard is a versatile OG/C at Eastern Illinois who will be a late pick. The LOT at UNI is also a draft pick...I forget his name atm...Lafayette's LOT Hard-Predmore is a OG conversion with some skills.

WR: A.J. Jackson at Cal PA is a shoe-in for at least a camp invitation if not a late pick. Hudgins is the next Colston and BETTER get drafted. Mike Chambers at Findlay and Jeremy Young at Ouachita Baptist should get late consideration, as should the HANDS man Mike Harris at Shippensburg. Juamorris Stewart at Southern and Pat Simonds at Colgate deserve looks/consideration too.

QB: Higgins is a UDFA, as are most of the others listed. A draft pick should be Eric Ward because of his size and dual threat ability AS A QB. We all know that Armanti will play a MEAN wildcat, at a bare minimum and is so versatile he should be drafted. Billy Cundiff should still be getting a look. Yea, he's been down some statistically, but the line is at fault, not Billy. Where's Dominic Randolph of H.C? He's definitely a camp QB. Matt Nichols at Eastern Washington is also head and shoulders above some of these other guys. Waggener at UNC is a FLORDIA TRANSFER...you mean someone won't bring him in?? R.J. Archer at W&M is a sleeper in my book. Kellen Lewis is going to be picked up as an athlete. The PSAC has a lot of camp talent in Chad DiFebbo at Ship and Dan Letorre at Blooms. Some people even like Lafayette's QB Rob Curley, but not me.

DEs:
Lane, Moats and Ruffin, all have solid chances from the 3rd on IMO. I am surprised they've shunned William & Mary's Adrian Tracy who I have as just behind Moats, and ahead of Ruffin for small school DEs.

LBs: Perhaps they should be reading CDS. The kid Dontey Brown at Cal (PA) is a draft pick. Hicks-Green should be drafted too, I agree. Daniel Becker at AP has a shot to be drafted as well, as does the kid from Glenville...Lawrence. Where is Michael Johnson at UNA!?! Best small school LB in the nation, BAR NONE. John Jacobs at Saginaw has a legit shot, maybe a PUDFA, but he will impress in camp.

Safeties: Whitehead's not being on the list is a joke. LeGree has a shot I agree. No one is yet talking about RMU's Michael Landers, but they ought to be. Sean Ware at UNH has been playing OLB, but he's a SS for the next level and is not a project as he's played there most of his football life.

CB: Owusu-Ansah is probably a UDFA, but a priority kid who will get to choose his situation. Leroy Vann and Scotty McGee, not being on the list proves the list is not very well thought out. McGee is a mid-rounder now.

Depending on your availability, you could see Veldheer for yourself - GVSU is webcasting the GVSU-Hillsdale playoff game at 1 PM EST - Veldheer and Berube from Hillsdale and Iciek, Smolen and McDonald from GVSU will be playing. I don't know if they can archive the playoff games per NCAA policy. The GVSU link:

http://all-access.cbssports.com/player.htm...mp;media=152555

Cal (PA) (Portis and Jackson) vs Shippensburg (DiFebbio and Harris) can be seen live at 12 PM Saturday on the Ship website:

www.ship.edu/goraiders

You can also log on and watch archived copies of all home games this season.

I think if you go to the West Liberty site you can watch Harlon Hill finalist QBs Trevor Harris (Edinboro) and Zach Amedro (West Lib) who combined for 1000 yards offense the last time these two teams met (Amedro is just a junior):

http://www.hilltoppersports.com/page.cfm?story=26331

If Saginaw Valley QB Dowdell didn't have 3 turnovers in the second half last week against UN-Kearney, we could have seen LB John Jacobs this weekend, too.

Double Echo, of the players referenced who has a real shot at the next level, I assume Veldheer's #1?
