Defensive Player Spotlight
This week's top individual matchup again comes from the SEC as the LSU Tigers come up against the #1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. If LSU want to inflict the first defeat of the year on Alabama, they are going to have to get pressure early and often on the Tide's QB John Parker Wilson and try and shut down the running game too. That means that Tyson Jackson is going to have to step up and make some plays this week. He needs to find a way round his opposite number if the Tigers defense is to have any success.
Offensive Player Spotlight
Charged with the duty of keeping Jackson quiet will be the mammoth offensive tackle Andre Smith. Smith is having an outstanding year and currently ranks as the #1 player in the country in the CDS Top 100. He has shown an ability to deal with every type of player opposing defenses have thrown at him, but he will need to continue that against Jackson if the Tide are to continue their unbeaten run and stay as the #1 team in the country. If he succeeds, Alabama should be able to run and pass the ball well and that is often the key for this team.
