I am reworking this 7 round draft. The players that have the comments are from the old mock. The players without comments are my new selections. If you see a player twice, sorry for the confusion. It will take some time, which right now I dont have much of.

Mayock is the best scout and no that isn't an opinion he consistently produced the most accurate mocks year in and year out. You contradicted yourself by saying "agree to disagree" then arguing about something else with me, but I guess you aren't bright enough to follow that logic (also not an opinion, that too is a fact seeing as you just did exactly that). I suggest you get off your high horse and stop playing ignorantly devil's advocate.

*ignorantly playing

yikes lots of guys in round 1 that dont belong
Posted by biggestlittleman13 on 12/10/09 - 12:37PM
LOL. Mayock is not the best scout. That is YOUR opinion. Also, I agreed to disagree with you about one topic, then argued another. Even you stated (and I quote) "arguing about something ELSE". Didn't say we'd have to agree to disagree on everything....reading isn't that tough. But considering you just said it's a 'fact' that Mayock is the best draft scout, I'm not too suprised.

I agree Philly'sFinest. Von Miller is not a 1st round talent....and top 15? Only like 3 or 4 others I'd say aren't 1st rounders though (or at least aren't 1st round talents at the moment). Can't see SF going QB and NT that high. Also not sure DE is a good fit for the Texans. Too many other needs right there with talented players at other spots available. Nate Allen could be their 1st round pick....not lasting to the 3rd.

A browns fan for sure. im kind of laughing with arthur jones in the 5th round and stick with smaller mocks your losing sight of draft grades and missing alot. its not really anything other then just taking on to big of a mock. missing badly on devin mccourty he will be gone long before the 7th as well as Vladimir Duccasse. Draft grade C-. good effort
Posted by biggestlittleman13 on 12/10/09 - 2:21PM
Not sure how the Browns end up with the 1st pick in the 1st round and the 4th pick in the 5th round....with ties you only flip the picks in the 2nd round....
Posted by biggestlittleman13 on 12/10/09 - 2:22PM
I do agree with timb2 that Jones is a big bust candidate....but with the way Tyson Jackson flew up boards late, I agree can't see him falling to the 5th round (though we be a killer pick for the Browns...as would Young in the 5th).
Posted by chiefsfan27 on 12/10/09 - 3:52PM
give the Chiefs Morgan Burnett in the second instead of Matthews and their draft is perfect
Posted by chiefsfan27 on 12/10/09 - 3:55PM
I agree with Rich, Mayock is the czar of scouting players. He's sitting on his couch right now with a big ol' bowl of popcorn watching tape. Legend
Posted by steel-curtin on 12/10/09 - 11:07PM
damn steelers get two of the same ppl in a 3 round difference.. must be nice
Posted by biggestlittleman13 on 12/11/09 - 9:13AM
Don't get me wrong Chiefsfan, I do like Mayock. But you can't say it's "fact" that he's the best. First off, getting mock drafts right in no way makes you a good scout. All it may mean is you're good at reading how teams will draft. If you predicted Tim Couch over McNabb does that make you a good scout? um, no. Also, over the last 5-6 years it was Mel Kiper and not Mayock that had a higher percentage of 1st round hits in his mock. Again, not saying that makes him a better draft analyst, but shows you can't say it's "fact" that any one person is the better draft scout. It's all subjective and Rich was calling his personal OPINION a fact, which is what annoyed me.

yeah i hear you, that's what I meant, choosing where players will go and what not, theres no doubt theres plenty of scouts that are better

Carolina does not need another two DTs, with Lewis, Kemo, Irvin, Leonard, Tyler, Thomas, Hayden, and whoever the heck else we have. Hayden and Thomas will probably be cut, but Leonard played really well before he got hurt for season, and Irvin hasnt even had a chance to play yet. Tyler seams like he sticking around for awhile also. Jones and Ross would not be likely anymore.

If the Bears went this route with their draft I would be pretty happy. Ulatowski would be a good right tackle. Get a good guard and more depth at tackle. Church would be a steal there and if they Got McCluster that woudl be nice, but I doubt they do because he would be gone by then.

Hmm not a very good draft no offense, I commend the effort though. You dont seem to have a very good gage on prospects at this point.

Now let’s see if I can follow the logic here: Running back A is listed at 6’1” and 235 lbs, and played Tail Back in college. Running back B is listed at 5’11” and 234 lbs, and played Tail Back in college. Running Back A, rushed for 1,871 yards, and 27 TDs his SR Yr leading the nation in both categories. Running Back B, rushed for 542 yards, and 4 TDs his SR Yr leading his team in both categories. Running Back A, rushed for 200 yards, and 7.4 YPC vs. Washington his SR Yr Running Back B, rushed for 52 yards, and 4.3 YPC vs. Washington his SR Yr Running back A, was listed as having a 4.48, 40 yard dash, with a 37” vertical leap coming out of high school. Running back B, was listed as having a 4.66, 40 yard dash, with a 28” vertical leap coming out of high school. Running back A, started in two different sports at the major college level. Running Back B, started in one sport at the major college level. So, running back A is the taller, faster, more athletic, and more productive tail back.. Running back A in addition to be significantly more productive over all was also, significantly more productive against a common opponent, in the same year. Nevertheless, running back A is projected as the 25th pick in round 3, as a Fullback and running back B is projected the 9th pick in round 3 as a Running Back. How does this make any sense? Do you guys even look at the facts, or is it all just based on perception?

Hey

To continue: Running Back A, rushed for a long run of 20 yards or more in 10 out of 12 games (83%) his SR Yr Running Back B, rushed for a long run of 20 yards or more in 4 out of 9 games (44%) of the games his SR Yr Running Back A, rushed for a long run of 20 yards or more in 10 out of 12 games (83%) his SR Yr Running Back B, rushed for a long run of 20 yards or more in 4 out of 9 games (44%) of the games his SR Yr Running Back A, rushed for a long run of 60 yards or more twice his SR Yr Running Back B, rushed no run longer than 34 yards. This is clear evidence that Running back has significantly more big play ability running the ball from the tail back position than running back B. Again, he is faster, more productive and clearly is a more dynamic player from the tail back position. Yet A is projected as a Full Back and B as a Running Back? Is there one shred of fact that supports this projection? Am I the only one that finds this a little bit preposterous?
