Round 1
  1. Ndamukong Suh DT (Nebraska)
  2. May be the top player in the draft this year. Versatile, athleticism would allow him to play the 3 tech. May be highly sought after by 3-4 teams, but could end up in a 4-3 as well. Bucs are rebuilding, which means they'll will likely start in the trenches. Suh is the BPA and fills a considerably large need.
  3. Russell Okung OT (Oklahoma State)
  4. May be considered a reach by some at this point, but clear front runner at left tackle. Huge area of concern in Detroit, Stafford has already been injured, an injury which may have been avoided by a better offensive line. Won't last long as an NFL QB with Backus and company. Not a whole lot of other options for Detroit to consider here, possibly DT (McCoy, Suh if available) or DE (Dunlap).
  5. Jake Locker QB (Washington)
  6. I think he has the edge of Bradford right now. Things could change by draft day if course. St. Louis needs to start fresh. Bulger isn't getting it done and can't stay healthy. Kyle Boller is barely worth mentioning. Selling high on Steven Jackson for draft picks is certainly an option. The fans need someone to put their beleif in, a reason to buy tickets. Highly drafted rookie QB's can fill both areas of need.
  7. Sam Bradford QB (Oklahoma)
  8. What a mess the Browns' franchise is. Quinn is too timid under center, uses check downs too often. Mangini never gave him the chance to overcome that and to make mistakes. Anderson is attrocious. May have to use this pick on a QB despite many other glaring areas of need.

I don't believe that Okung would be a reach at any point. I could see him going number one.

I like it. I just don't know if the Lions will have the number 2 overall pick. Okung is a GREAT pass blocker, and in my opinion, he is better than the tackles that went in the top 10 last year. I would also like to see Suh, McCoy, Cody, or Dunlap in a Detroit jersey. Any of those 5 total guys would be a MAJOR help in Detroit, ESPECIALLY Okung.
