Overview

Junior eligible. One of the top pass rushers in the nation. After a breakout '07 has been gameplanned against a lot this year.

(after a subpar junior season, Selvie wisely decided to return to USF for his senior year)

Strengths

Good enough size. Better than average speed. Excellent burst and overall athleticism. Great effort. Has only played the position for three years and look at where he is. Enormous upside. Could be a down RDE or 3-4 OLB at the next level. Has dropped into coverage at USF and looked comfortable doing so. Despite being double- and even triple-teamed, has still been productive.

Weaknesses

Looks a little soft, especially in the arms. Appears to only have one move - using his burst and speed to beat his man to the outside. Will bite on play-fakes and misdirections. Doesn't always stay at home.

Projection

Top half of the first round - should he decide to come out. Has made some rumblings that he might stay in school.

Selvie has a lot to prove but he's a better natural pass rusher than Ayers who went high in 2009.
