Overview

Sean Gilbert's nephew is a heckuva person and one great football talent. Darrelle has "All-Pro potential" stamped all over him. The only question is, "will he go to the right situation that will allow him to maximize it?"

Strengths

Has the ability to develop into an elite shutdown corner at the next level. Is not there yet, but is getting closer all the time. Displays great instincts. Hits like a safety. Coachable. Likeable. Is equally comfortable in any defensive style. Can bump and run, or man up with the best in college football. Great natural athlete with very good speed. Ideal size for the position. Has deadly potential as a return man. Explosive, smooth. Good backpedal. Solid footwork. Plays nasty with an aggressive streak. Very competitive. Loves to hit. Models himself after Ty Law and Champ Bailey. Is not cocky. Knows what he has to do to get even better. Young. Good--but not great--worker.

Weaknesses

Does not have world-class speed. Does not jump as well as you would expect of a former stud HS basketball player. Is not always around the football. Is not as aggressive in the return game as you might like. Is not classroom smart. Not yet a real student of the game. Can use some coaching up. Disappears for short stretches of some games. A lot of "upside" is projected into his overall grade, which may not ever turn up.

Projection

First round talent, but third round play to this point. Mid-to-late first round based on talent and upside.

The Steelers will never select him in the first.

Revis is by far the most complete Cornerback in this draft. He's just as tough as Leon Hall but much quicker and faster. He also plays the ball as good as any corner in this draft.
