OverviewNorthland HS (Miami, FL) grad who was very highly-regarded coming out of HS after leading Northland to the 6A State Title. Was considered Florida International's best recruit ever, and was a rare 4-year starter. First-team all-Sunbelt performer who is FIU's all-time sack leader. Played LB and DE, though he projects to a WILL at the next level. Combine participant.
StrengthsCompactly built. Great blitzer. Outstanding speed. Fairly productive 4-year starter, who really made his mark as a sack artist. Could be considered a 3rd-down pass-rush specialist, if he can bulk up a little. Played very well at the end of the inaugural Texas v. The Nation game, recording two quick sacks nearly in succesion to thwart a last-ditch comeback attempt by the Texas team. Had 22.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage his senior year.
WeaknessesA bit staight-linish. Definitely a projection to a 3-4 OLB. Very much a tweener at this stage. Has not been asked to cover receivers, and that could be his Achilles Heel...Does not appear to have great hip roll.
ProjectionExploded onto the scene at the combine. Stock is rising and he should hear his name called day two.
