Overview

Cyprus Springs (TX) grad who was ranked among the top-60 safeties in the country by Rivals.com coming out of HS. Marcus was an honorable mention all-state selection and first-team all-district pick. Collected 112 tackles and added five interceptions as a senior. Really did not come into his own at Mizzou until his senior year when he was named 1st-Team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press, as well as league coaches after leading the Tigers with 103 tackles, 5 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions. Played very well at the inaugural Texas v. The Nation Game in El Paso on 2-2-07, when he was one of the defensive leaders of the Texas team.

Strengths

Pretty fast, fluid and agile. Good hips. Gets back in coverage and covers well for a smallish LB. Could possibly be tried as SS down the road, but would need a TON of coaching up.

Weaknesses

A tweener who is too small for FT duty as an NFL linebacker, and too untrained (and true speed is an unkown quantity at this point) to be drafted as a SS project. Will have to make his living on teams, until a staff decides what to do with him.
