OverviewSammie was one of the most exciting and explosive players in the Pac-10 the past few seasons. He was injured for most of 2007 and received a medical redshirt and will play his senior season in 2008. Avg. 10.3 yards per PR in 2008. Hand and arm length: 29.5,9.0.
Ran better at the Oregon State Pro Day (4.45 twice) than at the Combine. Also did a 30" vertical at the Pro Day. StrengthsQuick. Outstanding start/stop and cutting ability. Causes match up problems in space. Can take over games and dominate as a returner and receiver. Solid hands and gets separation. Routes are run with quick cuts. An electric player.
WeaknessesMinor injuries always seem to nag him. Has been diagnosed with clinical depression after a rough stretch in his personal life. Does not possess break away homerun speed. Not able to get up in jump ball situations or win many jump balls.
ProjectionLooks to be back to his old self at the time of this writing. Depression diagnosis could scare some teams away but many players have had successful careers such with it such as Terry Glenn.
