Overview

Donnie Avery is an extremely gifted WR and Return Specialist. Ran Track & Field for Houston and has been timed as fast as 4.23. Avery is a better version of Ted Ginn Jr because of his receiving skills.

Strengths

Speed. Extremely fast player. Separation is not an issue. Will beat you on the 9-route. Will catch the ball in traffic. Doesn't back down to contact. Good hands. Electric with the ball in his hands. Can return kicks. Good production in college.

Weaknesses

Size and bulk. Can he beat press coverage in the NFL? Not very polished as a route-runner. Will struggle as a blocker on the outside. He's fast, but he could be quicker and more smooth in and out of his breaks.

Projection

Avery's had a poor showing at the combine due to an aggravated quadriceps/hamstring injury that hurt his stock and may have dropped him to the end of Round 2 or the end of Round 3.

I don't know what ntp stands for, but you need to lay off the sauce. Sure, Avery has great speed, but it takes more than just speed to play in the NFL. He may one day be a good NFL WR, but he has a long way to go in polishing his routes, bulking up, and blocking technique. If one of those teams does take Avery in the 1st rd., I hope it's Philly. While they're spending the next two years honing Avery's skills, the Cowboys will be winning a couple more rings!

he is a late 2nd to mid 3rd. Very good Return man and runs in the 4.28 speed which is just blazing. as of now is the fasttest thing coming out of college. Was very productive coming out of Housten college with over 50 catchs and over 800 yards with 5 Tds. Very talented whose speed is just to good to pass up. At the very least teams will get a very good Return man. At the most a very good return man and also a #2 WR.

Too talented of a WR to fall in the latter rounds. WR Donnie Avery is going to enjoy a long career in the NFL. He is durable and quick. His speed allows him to stretch the field. I expect this WR to be taking in the mid first round. In my opinion one of these teams will select WR Donnie Avery with their first selection in the draft. The Titans, Eagles, Denver, Ravens, Bills, Giants, Tampa, Rams
