To be the 2nd leading tackler on a team who's defense gave up almost 400 points is not going to help any player's NFL draft chances. Banks does have some good cover skills as a linebacker and could get a shot as UFDA, but I hope he got his degree completed just in case. too small for the NFL, but if he bulked up to 240 plus he could get a shot as an outside linebacker, but conversely if he slimmed down to the 215-220 range he could also get a shot at safety which is probably his best chance. Rodney Harrison is 220 and in the 80's the Bengals had a 230 pound safety who played well named David Fulcher and more recently Kevin Kaesviharn

Banks is a versatile athlete with the ability to stay bulked up and play weakside linebacker in the NFL or he has the ability to move back to safety and be an adrian wilson prototype safety at the next level. Banks speed and body makeup speak for itself, he has a nose for the ball and makes plays all over the field. He should be used more in the blitz scheme this year, and he has the ability to cover. He needs to work on his hands a bit and route recognition. He is a hard worker and should have a great season this year. This will be a name worth remembering. If he has a similar year to last season, he will easily creep up the draft boards. Watch out for him at the combine because he is a physical specimen.

Jon Banks is an athlete and a linebacker with the physical skills and speed to play safety as well. Jon has a nose for the football and seemingly if there is a play to be made you can bet he is involved or close by.

Jon Banks is a sure tackler and has the skills to cover receivers down the field. Jon Banks also ran track for Iowa State and has speed to burn.
