OverviewJacoby is a 2-sport star who prepped at Fork Union Military Academy in '05-'06 where he returned seven kicks for scores (four punts, three kickoffs) and had 57 catches for 1,254 yards and nine touchdowns. He also rushed 12 times for 306 yards and three touchdowns. Coming out of Cardinal Newman High in Royal Palm beach, FL. in 2005, Jacoby was named the 36th best wideout/kick returner in the nation by Scout.com., and later, he was also named the 17th best prep school prospect in the nation by Rivals.com. Ford had the best 40-yard time at the Fork Union combine (4.126). His coach there called him "the fastest player ever at Fork Union;" which has produced 87 NFL draft picks and two Heisman Trophy winners. He also had 22 catches for 550 yards and 10 scores as a senior at Cardinal Newman. Jacoby was named the MVP of the Palm Beach County All-Star game, was named 2nd-team all-state, and a was a state champion in the 100m (10.32) and 200m (21.25) as a senior. He lettered twice in football and once in track. Ford's brother Davy played at Florida State.
StrengthsSpeed, speed, and more speed. Probably one of the top 3-4 fastest players in college football. Added value as a kick returner. Has the mentality to improve himself as a receiver. Outstanding hands to secure the ball in traffic. Can be deadly on reverses and screens. Must be accounted for on every down. Fairly tough and durable for his size. Wants to be good.
WeaknessesSmallish and will have to beat the press with moves, as he will be easily jammed otherwise. Boom or bust type who may be over-drafted due to that amazing straight-line speed.
ProjectionProved himself as, possibly, the top slot receiver in the draft at the Senior Bowl. Should be selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Date/Time: 10/22/2009 - 11:31AM CDT Predicted Round: Round 2 Speed!Speed!Speed! Everybody knows that speed kills. I think that Jacoby will be a great WR with time. Right now he is inconsistent. He will be a definite second rounder. Can also be a RB, or WR(most likely WR) with an amazing burst. I think his combine will show us what hes all about and he will go late 1st to early 2nd User: robreg2fool Date/Time: 09/17/2008 - 4:20AM CDT Predicted Round: Round 2 No Comments Submitted Rate This Player |
