Josh chose not to bench at the combine, but had a 33.5" vertical jump, a 9'11" broad jump - tops among QB's - ran a 7.11 3-cone drill and a 4.43 20yd shuttle. StrengthsHuge physical specimen and a very good athlete. Very strong arm and can make all the throws required in the NFL. Quick release and goes through his read progressions. Has improved his mechanics and footwork tremendously, and has taken on more of a leadership role.
WeaknessesStill very raw and needs to be coached up. Doesn't read defenses well and lacks touch on his passes. Doesn't have the quickest feet.
ProjectionWill need a great deal of coaching and time to develop at the next level, but has enviable raw tools with which to work. Will be a first round pick due to the high-profile nature of the QB position.

Date/Time: 04/15/2009 - 2:46PM CDT Predicted Round: Round 5 another Ryan Leaf? but without the great numbers, questionable charater, not enough speed to make up for the lack of coverage reading ability. a project at best. User: NinerFan85 Date/Time: 01/4/2009 - 6:57PM CST Predicted Round: Round 2 Top 50 pick but he's got the upside to be a mover, possibly late first round depending on postseason workouts. The size, athleticism, and arm are going to have some people drooling. Rate This Player |
