OverviewBrown is listed as a TE for Tennessee, but he is more of a FB/H-Back type of prospect. He lines up all over the field and became a bit of a scoring machine in 2007 with 6 TD catches.
StrengthsGood blocker with the ability to get out in front of a ball-carrier and open holes and also has the agility to handle the blitz and protect the QB. Moves well in open space and can engage the LBs and DBs beyond the first level. As a receiver, he shows excellent hands and can adjust to poorly thrown balls. Is a decent route-runner who is adept at finding holes in the zone. Hard-working player who will take on any role and put in the effort to succeed.
WeaknessesBrown isn't a head-cracker as a blocker. He'll engage and try to just stay between the blocker and the ball, but isn't going to blow anyone up. Not nearly as physical as one would like a FB to be. Speed is OK, but won't outrun or juke anyone once the ball is in his hands. Hasn't taken a handoff in college. Red flag incident in his freshman season when he was suspended a game for a shoplifting incident.
ProjectionBrown is flying under the radar at a position that is rarely even on the radar. He may hear his name late on Sunday, but is more likely going to answer calls following the draft.

Date/Time: 03/2/2008 - 8:58AM CST Predicted Round: Round 4 Very versatile player, was moved around alot in college to take advantage of his skills. Can play FB,TE and could be a beast on special teams. Blocks well and has great hands out of the backfield. Reminds me alot of Dallas Clark and could be used in that capacity for the team that's lucky enough to get him. Rate This Player |
