OverviewAllen Barbre (Granby, Mo.), has been named to his third All-American team this year as the senior offensive lineman was named to the first team of the D2football.com All-American Team.
Barbre, already named to the Associated Press and Coaches All-American teams, was a Daktronics All-Southwest Region first team member and was the lone offensive player this year to be a unanimous All-MIAA selection. He was a preseason D2football.com and Don Hansen's Football Gazette first team All-American selection. He helped lead an offensive line that saw quarterback Adam Hinspeter (Centralia, Mo.) become just the second passer in Southern history to throw for 2,000 yards twice in a career. A 2005 third team AFCA All-Southwest Region selection, Barbre helped the Lions to 3,769 total yards including 2,844 passing. In 2004, he helped the team to a school record 3,575 passing yards and 1,408 on the ground. StrengthsNot scouted thoroughly enough to do a fair assessment, but we are hearing some very good things about Allen. Was dominant at the D2 level.
WeaknessesLevel of competition.
ProjectionWith his size, speed, strength ratio, he could be an early second day selection.
