OverviewBranden Albert didn't begin playing football until his Junior year of H.S. in 2002. Spent the 2004 season playing football at Hargrave Military Academy and upon transferring to UVA in 2005, he quickly became a starter during summer camp. An ACC All-Freshman selection started every game for the Cavaliers in 2005 and hasn't missed a game since.
StrengthsA massive linemen who could play OT in the pros. Has the speed, strength and footwork to be a starter for years. However, his ability to pull and secure blocks at the 2nd level of defense qill clearly secure his position as a guard. Not a system player and can adapt to any offense. Best strength is his ability in open space.
WeaknessesThe only minor flaw in Albert's game is that he sometimes gets his hands a little too low allowing DT's to use their power game to pull him off balance.
ProjectionViewed by many as the #1 OG in the draft...Albert's Senior Bowl performance has solidified him as a 2nd Round draft pick who could go in the latter part of Round 1.
