Jeremy ran a 4.40 unofficially at the Combine, but then really turned things up a notch at the Missouri Pro Day on 3-19-09, running 4.43 and 4.47 in the 40, with a 35.5" vertical, a 10'0" broad jump, a 4.25 short shuttle and a 7.12 3-cone drill.

Strengths

Superb athlete who ranks as one of the fastest and most explosive players in the country. Great balance, agility and body control and executes cuts at full speed. Good hands and will go over the middle to make the tough catch. Runs well after the catch and is a fine return man. Team player who is an effective blocker. Makes people miss with outstanding open field moves.

Weaknesses

Only a sophomore, Maclin needs more discipline in his route running and defensive scheme recognition. Will get careless with the ball at times. Needs to get stronger to take the pounding at the next level.

Projection

Early-to-mid first round pick. Will be the first or second WR drafted.

Maclin can return kicks and punts with the best of them, and has pretty good hands. Wont be the first WR taken maybe 3rd or 4th, but last year we saw 0 receivers go in round 1. With that in mind Maclin will slip to late 1st, early 2nd round.

I think Galloway is an excellent comparison. Maclin has the kind of acceleration that NOBODY in the NFL currently has. He should become a master route-runner, right now he's actually pretty good for a college kid but he should be even better when he gets more seasoning. Hands catcher who isn't perfect but quite good. Loses NO speed with the ball in his hands.

Taller, faster, better hands than Percy Harvin. Sort of a cross between Joey Galloway circa 1998 and Desean Jackson.
