Overview

2-time All-WAC first teamer who has excellent size and speed for the position. In '08 had 65 tackles and 5.0 sacks, but slightly disappointing in '09, with only 51 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Started 44 games in his collegiate career. Respected on team for high character and discipline - finished degree in 3.5 years. Named to Outland Trophy watch list. Senior Bowl invitee. Measurements - arm: 32.0" hand: 9.6" Notes: Big with a solid build. Had highs and lows during Senior Bowl practice week and generally met expectations.

Strengths

Big player who can also play tackle or nose. Is explosive on the rush and has a variety of moves - gets great upfield penetration. Sure-tackler. 44 starts prove durability and experience level is high.

Weaknesses

Average strength prevents him getting off the block. Fails to use proper leverage and is sometimes ineffective on the bull-rush. Senior production was down from junior year (coaches attribute that to more double-teaming and playing the option in '09) and he has been criticized for his conditioning. Will definitely need to improve weight training and conditioning regimen at the next level.

Projection

3rd round. Could slip into 4th round if he does not put up good speed/strength numbers at the combine.
