OverviewIf you're looking for the next Antonio Gates or Tony Gonzalez, keep looking. If you want a TE who will go out and bang heads all game long, opening holes for your backs and protecting your QB, then Bennett is your man. He can catch a pass when needed, but Bennett is more lineman than wideout. He broke an ankle early in the 2006 season and was granted a medical redshirt to return in the 2007 season.
StrengthsExtremely intelligent and committed player. He's a full-effort guy who never takes a play off. He's a real asset in the running game as a drive blocker -- one of the best in the business. He has the frame to continue to add bulk. Bennett really understands the best angles to take to make up for a lack of athleticism. He appears to be a competent receiver, although he doesn't get many chances.
WeaknessesHe's not very athletic and appears stiff on the field. He doesn't have the speed to be a real threat in the passing game.
ProjectionBennett will definitely get a look from a team that would like a solid blocker to help with their running game.
