Overview

2008 -- Second Team All-Big 12

Strengths

College Football's best player, bar none. Rare blend of size, quickness, athleticism and power. Plays with explosive strength and is routinely in the opponents backfield. Can hold his ground vs. the double team and split it to make the play. Can't be pushed off the ball. Great balance and agility and does a great job protecting his legs; can't be cut down. Great tackler and nasty hitter. Embarrasses collegiate lineman who can't come close to matching his skill set. Chases plays from sideline to sideline, drops into coverage with linebacker-like agility and has made several interceptions. Terrific pass rusher with a great first step and the ability to shed blocks, change directions and find the QB. Great spin move and excels on stunts. Techniques have advanced greatly since '08. Led the 'Huskers in tackles and sacks for two straight seasons, capped by his herculean effort in the Big-12 championship game (4.5 sacks). Blocks FG's and extra points. Fine, intelligent person with tremendous work ethic. Never quits. Student of the game and knows every player's responsibility on Nebraska's defense.

Weaknesses

Admittedly played at 290lbs. this season which is not very large for an NFL lineman. His tremendous work ethic in the weight room means he's probably maxed out his body and doesn't have any room to grow. Looks like a 4-3 DT with not much versatility beyond that.

Projection

Likely first or second pick in the draft depending on which junior QB's declare. Worth it.

listen this guy is a tremdous prospect but who is he going to be? a Glenn Dorsey or a Warren Sapp. He's kinda undersized and if he does gain the wieght will he be as effective considering he's playing on the highest level.

best overall prospect, no contest and rams should overlook their need for qb and take suh 1st overall

Top 3 pick. A team like TB doesn't need a QB, so this pick is pretty easy for them. He's the type of player they can build their defense around.

I said last year at this time he would have been the #1 DL taken in the top 3. Now I'm not even sure you take a franchise QB ahead of him. He remindes me of John Randle of the Vikings. This man can not be controlled by one OL man, an not even in the pro's. He will either go to St. Louis- Cleveland- or Tampa Bay an nobody else has a chance...

this year he has been a house for nebraska the whole team is even having a solid year still however don't see him going #1 over all to risky for dt top 5 maybe.

Absolutely dominant at the college level, and could do the same in the NFL. Past drafts have produced a lot of big busts at DT. I expect Suh to become a very good to great NFL player, but not as effective rushing the passer as he is in college.

A once in a generation player. A complete beast. Can play any defensive line position, as well as some OLB--he's THAT athletic. If he can't beat you with his massive strength, he'll go past you with his superior quickness. The Browns should take him with the first pick in the draft.

Has continued to show improvement with his motor and good footwork. Still needs to work on not taking plays off when double teamed and doing a better job of tackling instead of trying to throw everbody down....Is a lock top 10. Probably go in the top 5.

At this point I have him #1 on my value board, Other than Sapp's 1st step he has as many top level attributes in one DT prospect as I have seen in nearly a decade, he's a slightly smaller frame than Rogers, but is nearly as powerful and has more consistent effort, he's like a more physically gifted Casey Hampton.

Best defensive lineman in college football. That's all that needs to be said.
