In 2009 a down year for B-CU was a strong one for Cox he had 22 solo stops 28 assists 2 TFL, and 11 PBU, he made 1st Team All MEAC and the 2009 RUSSELL ATHLETIC HBCU BOWL. East Team. 2008:The more celebrated of the twin Cox cornerbacks started in the secondary all season for the Wildcats and has no two full seasons at B-CU following their transfer from USF with his twin brother Antonio. Has 18 starts in the secondary for the Wildcats – teaming with his twin brother – Antonio - at the corners for the B-CU defense…Was among the ‘Cats tackle leaders in 2008 with 26 stops (19 solo) and Antwuan led the team in interceptions with 3 picks last season (Alabama State, at Morgan State, vs. FAMU in the Florida Classic) and Cox’s top tackle game was 6 vs, Howard and he had four tackles in two other ball games (Alabama State, at South Carolina State)totaled 3 pass break ups in the Morgan State 31-27 road MEAC win, including two on late drives by the Bears and helped seal the win with team defensive stops late in the game…Antwuan’s 8 pass break ups led the B-CU defense last season and he has 17 career pass break ups in two seasons…Was an All-MEAC pre-season selection named at the conference media day July 31 in Virginia Beach, VA. 2007 (Junior) Antwane Cox stepped in and immediately made his presence felt at Bethune-Cookman University Played in 11 games for the Wildcats at the cornerback position, while making a start in seven of those contests, ranked seventh on the team in total tackles with 38 to his credit. He was fifth on the team in solo tackles with 23. Racked up three tackles behind the line for a loss of nine yards also was second on the squad in pass deflections with nine, also caused one fumble and recovered two more on the season and posted a season-high tying four solo stops in the season-opener against Jacksonville, 5 total tackles in that game against the Dolphins, as well as a season-high three pass breakups. Had one tackle-for-loss in that contest against JU and registered a season-high six tackles (four solo) at Savannah State had a forced one fumble and recovered another against SSU. He rang up five tackles against Morgan State on a B-CU Homecoming Weekend. One tackle-for-loss in that game, tallying four solo tackles at Howard with two pass breakups, also two assisted tackles and another two pass deflections against Florida A&M in the Walt Disney World Florida Classic Worked on scout team and utilized his redshirt season after signing as a late addition to the 2005 recruiting class at University of South Florida. A 3 sport athlete, [football, basketball and track] he played for 6-A state title team in 2004 at Miami Killian High. School. StrengthsHas both straight line speed and lateral quickness, solid ball skills and is a good tackler.
WeaknessesDoes not use his hands well at the line and is used to depending on being the better athlete. He will need to get stronger and improve his route recognition and film study at the next level.
ProjectionCox could go as early as the late 5th/early 6ht with an of the charts work out but the 7th is currently more likely.
