Overview

Versatile defender who can play tackle or end. Son of pro Craig 'Ironhead' Heyward, he comes from a football family. Has been an OSU starter since his freshman year. Has stated he will return for his senior year and will probably collect many accolades and end-up as a first round pick in 2011.

Strengths

Fast and athletic - able to rush off the edge, but also big enough to go toe-to-toe with big o-linemen. Is strong and has a variety of rush techniques demanding opponents to account for him on every play. Tallied 7.5 sacks and 11 TFLs this past season against some of the best lines in the country.

Weaknesses

Will sometimes overpursue and be vulnerable to the trap. Occasionally penetrates too deep on pass rush and loses contain.

Projection

Some have said he could be a mid-first round pick in 2010, but more likely 2nd or 3rd round. Barring anything unfortunate, will definitely go in the first round in 2011.
